Arcane Brilliance: The first things your mage should do after patch 4.1 drops {WoW}

Apr 23rd 2011 4:39PM Mr. Belt. If we could choose our class representative democratically, you would be elected as Mage Chancellor of Blizzard's Realm Affairs Council.
It could be annoying of course since there is a posibility of murder attempts by dissentive warlocks but given their low density of grey matter it should not be that dangerous.

Arcane Brilliance: Things I'm thankful for {WoW}

Nov 29th 2010 11:57AM The funniest thing about this week was standing in the Horde portal zone in Dalaran creating Portals to our cities where they were prior the patch and watch dumb/clueless people trying to use them.

Try it, lot's of fun.

Arcane Brilliance: Trial of the Champions loot preview for Mages {WoW}

Aug 9th 2009 2:25AM This all looks so fine but in reality I couldn't run any instance because the freaking instance limit problem.

Please Chris ask anyone you know in the site or something to make an influential article about this issue so that blizzard put more effort in solving this issue that has been going on for months.

Arcane Brilliance: Gearing your Mage for PvP {WoW}

Apr 30th 2009 10:05AM God why ppl are so narrowminded,
One says this is horde version... what the hell do u want? A column for u that will suck your arse cause ur a winny alliance mage? No this is his column a very fun column with his view of the mage.
We the ppl that come to read this every week enjoy it, not because it will show us the key to a magic IWin button that will solve all our problems, just because its fun to read something of what we live every that we play our mage.

And about a poster about we are a burst class so forget about resilence? Good luck with that u wont kill any geared crap with that simplistic mind. It takes a lot of skill to pvp as a mage, and that guys... IS WHY WE MAGE PPL!

Arcane Brilliance: Post-patch madness {WoW}

Oct 21st 2008 10:39AM What I see is that you rarely have the chance to cast a Frostbolt while the dude is frozen, so u have to instantly Deep Freeze him in order to be able to Frostbolt him and Ice Lance him. The Deep Freeze application will waste the GCD and you can only use it on a 30 sec CD. So its not a great improvement as I see.

I accept that Deep Freeze gives you the chance to use Frostbolt at all, but once each 30 secs and only if its frozen, so again is that what you would expect to be the cream of the frost build? I do not.

Arcane Brilliance: Post-patch madness {WoW}

Oct 21st 2008 10:24AM I'm not happy with the change, as a Frost Mage the improvement is way less than most other classes. The only improvement is Deep Freeze that in fact sucks (not the spell itself but the synergy in which you can use it and forget Fingers of Frost in PvP). Ah and the ocasional brain fart... sorry freeze's Fireball.

So now if your a Frost Mage your screwed since a Paladin can two/three shot you down with ranged somethings and stun you down (no blink there). They seem now be able to charge and crap I dont know I hate it. I've seen them crit me with 2K+ even at 430 res, and only those ranged somethings and instantly have 20% of all your stats its an impresive hit.

Shaman now have the wolves that are amazing, I'm happy for the shamam people, but then again sometimes I have to fight them and Ice Block will not save me since the wolves last 45 seconds. I have no instant invisibility theres no shit that will save me. Basically if your a shammy just push the button and you have one Frost Mage dead ahead.

Warlock will just own you and always could so I don't complain there. You cannot kill them in Arcane either so... whatever at least I can run from them. Although they see you in invisibility so don't count with it as an escape method (as they see you very clearly).

To be short, my conclusion is that Frost Mages are not interesting anymore in PvP. So the only real improvement in the mage class is the Arcane tree and I don't like it.

The Creamy GUI Center: Action bar break down {WoW}

Sep 20th 2008 10:53PM I absolutelly LOVE Trinity Bars, for all the good reasons that are posted above. I also think is very easy to use.

The only one problem with it is that sometimes it screws your conjured items and consumables giving a "Retrieving Item Information" message instead...
Although there's a workaround to that by running the /reload ui command, that's the only reason why I'm planning to move on to another addon.

Unfortunatelly it looks like it isn't updated frecuently... so I'll have to live with bartender or the other alternatives.

Arcane Brilliance: Mages in the beta {WoW}

Sep 4th 2008 2:01AM I have a bad feeling, they gave us some new flashy damage spells but I'm worried about our defensive skills. The way we are heading we are going to be so much glass and bit more cannon.

I always wanted to have a skill like a Time Stop, that would make everyone that is in a 15-20 yard radius to have an 2x increased GCD and cast times for about 10 secs, giving the mage enough time to think where the hell to disappear or who to polymorph and stuff. Wouldn't that be a nicer improvement?

WWI '08 Panel: Mage {WoW}

Aug 4th 2008 12:40PM Being a mage myself and having a warlock both well equiped, I'm pretty satisfied with the mage cause is very confortable to use and ppl call u to do instaces and all.

One only thing I cannot understand is why blizz would make warlocks that are 70 for a week outdps a fully equipped mage... just doesn't make sense, and just by hitting the shadowbolt key.

And the other problem is that when I'm watching my dps against a warlock almost always the warlock can output more because of the threat reducing imp.

So the conclusion, Blizz, if u want to make a very small change in the balance but give mages a great present give them something reduce more threat. Invisibility cuts all the dps and can be used only marginally. And dpsing as arcane sucks.
