Aug 8th 2010 5:26PM The article seems like a pretty nice way to say, "Holy Power is basically useless for Holy Paladins right now." Inquisition has weak damage, there is no time to use Crusader Strike, and Word of Glory can equal Holy Shock, but there is nothing so remarkable about it that one even remembers to use it. Sounds like Blizzard has a long way to go on Holy Power design.
Mar 29th 2010 1:46PM My best moment in WoW was completing this quest back in vanilla on the first try. I only had three pieces of Tier 1 as I recall, the rest was dungeon blues and a couple T0.5. I did it in the middle of the night, with no outside buffs or assistance, just potions & oil of immolation. It required a lot of situational awareness, but I didn't think it was that hard, and I was surprised when it ended.
This is for another column, but I miss the old healing game. Less giant heal spam, more mana management & triage. This reminds me of my second best moment - healing for the second group on the server to complete the 45-minute Baron Rivendare run. I wasn't even on that part of the quest line yet, so I was wearing dungeon blues, the T0.5 bracers, and a single piece of T1 (my first raid epic - the Girdle of Prophecy). Try healing for 40 minutes straight wearing that junk!
Mar 4th 2010 11:08AM I read the first War of the Ancients book. It was so awful that I'm permanently off of Warcraft books. I know there are other authors, but after Casually Hardcore gave this one a glowing recommendation, I'm only trusting RL friends on this. Knaak is the worst author I've read in a while, and I even suffered through most of the Clerical Quintet.
Nov 29th 2009 11:39AM I've played a female dwarf priest since vanilla. If you give the femdorfs a youthful face, they are pretty cute. I was on a heroic run not long ago with some guildies, and in talking about my toon one of them said, "You know, she's actually kinda hot."
I've got a female dwarf rogue at 80 too; I much prefer playing unusual toons. She's one of only a few on the entire server. You can't always play the rare combos though - my current raid toon is a BE paladin, since that's the only choice for Horde.
Oct 7th 2009 1:57AM I haven't tried the new Ony, as I played a Dwarf Priest back in the old days, so I'm still sick of Ony.
But, that ledge was raid death back then. If Ony happened to target someone on it, she could not reach them. That meant she would evade bug, and gain a ton of health back. If you were not feared in Phase 3, you would gain aggro. If one of the shelf dwellers resisted the fear, they would screw the raid. I guess this is not a problem with Fear no longer causing loss of aggro?
If you happened to have Fear Ward, that meant you controlled who gained Ony aggro. Not that I ever used it to kill people who beat my loot rolls, or DPSers who were getting too big for their britches.
Sep 15th 2009 9:32PM I see a couple comments in here about Affliction warlocks & BM hunters. The difference there is that you could dual-spec to a raid build and instantly do top-end DPS. Priests get one DPS spec, and it is lacking.
Feb 1st 2009 3:44AM I did the quest this evening on my Shadow Priest. Two of the NPCs were fine, but the one that helped on High Priest Yath'amon came over and killed me after the High Priest died. The DK stayed yellow to me the entire time.
Oct 14th 2008 12:41PM Powerleveling Inscription. I've got all the herbs sitting in my mailbox, neatly grouped & labeled for the appropriate skill levels.
Aug 12th 2008 5:21PM If I was Arena Junkies, I would expect a Cease & Desist letter from the USOC pretty soon. Federal law gives the USOC the exclusive right to the word "Olympics." They've sued lots of groups about it,
