Sep 1st 2009 6:34PM Gah, tried twice to explain what I did and the good and bad of it and the comments are getting eaten (or banned for some reason I suppose).
Last try. Short version: you're both right and wrong. Pen alone was blech, keyboard/tablet was as good as or better than keyboard/mouse for keyboard turners. Double (effectively) mouse was pretty cool. I didn't use it for long and after checking my notes on the hack I had to do I'll retract suggesting it. Was rather ugly. Worked better than you'd expect after changing UI around. If an OS comes out with actual double cursor support it's a real option. All of it is better than the multi-touch nonsense.
"What fire? All I saw was knuckle!"

Trinkets which add +spellpower on gem consumption are eaten for DPS, not mana regen. There are also special cases where using a small one is better than conjuring the big one. Boss fight went badly, not much DPS is up, mana's gone, pop a smaller gem for a killing blow instead of hitting GCD on conjure because there won't be enough time to use a second charge anyway.
Always worth having a rank or two below Emerald in the bag and with trinket having all of them.
Aug 22nd 2008 2:01AM The site could use a threat & aggro explanation (most important mechanic in the game!) but this ain't it for any player. It's useless.
Aug 20th 2008 10:51PM I'll raise you fifteen more years of PC gaming and say: nonsense.
Aug 20th 2008 7:09PM Two Sims packs (one a tie-in with a furniture maker), FIVE Blizzard entries (a good chunk many years old), and assorted leftover stuff including one which isn't a game at all.
While PC gaming is not dead, that list* is no sign of a healthy platform. Anything but. Let's reframe the list:
One MMO, a casual game, two expansions for another casual game, one not-a-game, a few old games bundled, and Call of Duty (which sold far better on consoles).
Does beat Mac native gaming at least. They just got...Jade Empire.
*It's important to keep in mind the list doesn't track online purchases and subscriptions, last I knew. No Steam, no Impulse, etc etc.
Aug 14th 2008 12:16PM "Have they made any changes the way fishing is leveled? [...] It doesn't make any sense to become a Bassmaster by repeatedly plucking minnows out of the wading pool.
Yes and no, which I just discovered about 2 minutes ago! You can fish in some places in Northrend as of this patch, and catch Northrend fish. However, I have not found a Grand Master trainer or Grand Master book yet, or anything that has recipes for these fish. I had to put on all of my +Fishing equipment and use some bait to fish in Dalaran's little ponds"
The answer given has nothing to do with the question asked.

It's completely stupid that as you progress your character that you end up regressing your spells. It's a bit silly don't you think?"
I have a hammer but I still find use for thumbtacks. When I bought a butane torch I didn't throw out the box of matches.
There are times when you don't want to do cross health x% on the DSP'd target, need to heal but absolutely must not dip mana below x, need a panic short-cast heal on the tank, need to land fast spells while moving to keep a debuff stack up, or quickly stack a debuff while the tank is building initial aggro.
MANY reasons to downrank. I only listed ones I can't see Blizz objecting to; I can see downranking to fish for crits or to have effectively infinite mana annoying 'em. And then there's PvP...
Aug 12th 2008 4:03PM "Gnome/tauren hybrids could happen...
It's just have to be a male gnome and a female tauren, otherwise, well...
...Lemme put it this way...
"Oh, oh yes! Oh, baby, I'm gonna... gonna... nngh!"
*fwoosh!* "Wheee, I'm a bottlerocket!" *thud* "Owie." "
You overlooked engineering. *gnome female crafts Turkey Baster 3000* [Use: inseminate. Requires one male toon to cast. Refractory cooldown of thirty minutes. No effect unless Ovulation buff is in effect.]
