The Light and How to Swing It: The Paladin of 2009 part 3 {WoW}

Dec 27th 2009 11:30AM Dude I know!!! I was one of those crazy level 70 ret pallies! It was unbelievable how happy I was when we got... well... good. I remember people asking what spec I was before the patch and when I said Retribution they would say, "so is that shockadin or something?" A crappy sub-spec of holy was more well known than ret!

And yeah I miss crusader too.... now I have to level weapon skill the slow way....

BlizzCon 2009: How far along is the development of Cataclysm? {WoW}

Aug 23rd 2009 5:59PM Ummm, revamp? Actually they are REMAKING most of the old zones...

BlizzCon 2009: How far along is the development of Cataclysm? {WoW}

Aug 23rd 2009 1:05PM I actually think that blizz is mostly just remaking all of the terrain. It seems to me that it would be both quicker and less buggy to just recreate Azeroth rather than reworking old maps. I don't think that the actually physical creation of new maps is terribly hard (especially because the props were already created) or time consuming; the hardest part is the design of quests, story's, layouts, and in general the zone feel.

From the look of the trailer, the map's are 50% done, but we have no idea how far along the design is, so Cataclysm could drop in May 2010 or it could drop in November 2010. Honestly, I think the safest bet is like June/July... the amount of balance work required because of the huge amount of stat and talent changes will take HEAVY testing.

BlizzCon 2009: Mastery system and talent trees {WoW}

Aug 23rd 2009 2:08AM I have to agree with you lemons... the vast majority of some talent trees are flat % boosts. They will have to do a lot of work to keep many tree's from just being gutted, and the huge amount of change may lead to balance issues.

Of course they will work the balance kinks out over time, and the improvement of the talent system is certainly worth it, but there will definitely be a cost, and blizzard could still screw it all up pretty badly.

Arcane Brilliance: What Cataclysm will mean to Mages, part 1 {WoW}

Aug 22nd 2009 6:05PM While I agree that generally people choose class, then race, there are situations that keep people from playing a certain class because of its races. For example, I hate alliance starting zones with a burning passion. The only one I can stand is Dranei. That means that if I want to play on the same faction as my guild, I can only play a Dranei compatible class (so no rogues, warlocks, or druids for me). On the Horde side, the Tauren starting zone makes me want to puke, so no druids I guess.

On the other hand, Cataclysm is revamping most of the starting zones (I think, correct me if I'm wrong), so that issue will probably be eliminated. All in all, I'm not sure if opening up the mage to more races will increase Mage numbers, but I know it won't decrease them.

Forum post of the day: Be disciplined about healing meters {WoW}

May 17th 2009 5:04PM Reading Fail.... No wait.... EPIC READING FAIL!!!!1!11!

He said that meters are crap but your Disc priest isn't always good. They COULD be good, but you can't let them hide behind the "you cant see my healing cause its mitigation" thing and never get criticized... you have to really analyze their performance, just like any other healer.

Ghostcrawler speaks on Arenas and Battlegrounds {WoW}

Mar 29th 2009 11:38AM I agree with you totally.

Plus, the poor PvE players saddled with the OP PvP class are subject to an insane roller coaster of nerfs and buffs when the usually didn't even need them.

The Daily Quest: Of gear guides, DK interviews and Pest Control {WoW}

Mar 27th 2009 12:10AM This is exactly like Ret. No we DO NOT face roll. We actually have to manage at least 5(!!!!!) attack cool downs as well as 1-3 trinket like CD's and 1 mana CD simultaneously, and believe me, getting out of sync or having to "catch up" to your CD's screws your DPS up so hard.

The Queue: The Scantily Clad Edition {WoW}

Mar 26th 2009 7:13PM Wow, the contest to see who has the biggest dick has apperently started on this post.

"I am SUCH a man! If you don't like looking a big boobs and midriffs you are GAY or a FREAK!!!1!!!1!1"

"I am SUCH a gentleman! If you don't hold doors open for women, and apologetically cover midriffs on your own character, you are a misogynistic slob, low-breed redneck! (note the grammatical precision, it is the mark of a true gentleman)"

Seriously guys, calm down. Shirts are in the game for a reason. I personally like me female characters to show their midriff. I think it makes them look more bad ass because they can kick your ass AND show some skin, but I don't begrudge someone's desire to cover their character. That's what Shirts do, they give people a choice.

The evolutionary design of Arena gear {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2009 9:28PM I have a great new corporate motto for blizz!

"Here at Blizzard, we never miss an opportunity to miss the point."

I mean seriously. When we said that we hated looking like a clown, we weren't complaining that the spikes on our shoulders didn't match our smooth boots, we were complaining that the boots were pink and the shoulders were neon green. So instead of giving us a way to make the colors the same, they make all the armor shapes the same, BUT KEEP CHANGING THE COLORS... exactly what we wanted fixed IN THE FIRST PLACE!
