Feb 16th 2010 1:26PM Rap is something you do.
Hip-hop is something you live.
You may not like it, but within the community there is a difference.
Feb 10th 2010 12:33PM Completely agree, the example of a ret pally weaving Hand of Reckoning into his rotation for the extra dps comes to mind in terms of "uneducated" dps. He misses the part of the tooltip that says the word taunt and thats a big problem.
He may be ignorant to that fact, or he may just not care and want to be #1 on the meters. Either way if I'm tanking I let him get his face beat on at least for a few seconds.
It stems back to the learning curve of this game. It has gotten very easy to level and hop right into dungeons. I love the fact that you can get an alt to 80 quickly and get him geared to run raids in a few days - but i've been playing from vanilla - and I remember what those times were like in a group. You stayed within your bounds.
That lesson is lost today simply because of the ease of play, most people never learned how to work in a group. Not that we didn't have bad players who did the same back then, there were just less of them.
So is the problem that they're uneducated - or that the system allows them to flourish as such?
(By the way - No, I don't have a solution to my own question - I like the way things are these days, but the price to pay is the casualty for the convenience if that makes sense.)
Feb 10th 2010 11:22AM To an extent, yes, if you pull aggro its your fault.
But to a greater extent - it is the tanks responsibility to maintain good aggro control.
This means taunting, proper pulling and proper threat output understanding.
I have had some tanks where i'm relegated to auto-attacking because they cannot hold aggro.
So yes, if your blasting 3k+ dps over the tank on the pull (or if your really dumb - before the pull), thats your fault and you deserve to tank that mob. But bad tanks do exist, dont discount that fact.

Feb 8th 2010 11:26AM Thank you for this great article! Had me laughing all over the place.
I've had the same theory (I call it "DHS" or Death Huntard Syndrome) since most of the terrible hunters have moved to DK's and Ret/Prot Pallies. Something to watch out for - I think a number of them have started rolling rogues, because I've been seeing a lot of subpar rogues in LFD groups that seem to follow the same method of being unable to find their /p button in favor or /s (that and that every other word is "lolwut" or "sutfnoob").
The good dks, pallies and rogues out there - keep playing your class well and don't let all the idiots who flocked to your classes get you down. Priests just got a buff so I'm sure some will flock over there and begin smiting their way to the bottom of the dps meter and wondering why shadowform keeps falling off.
Jan 26th 2010 12:54PM "If it's gonna be a tough pull for my pally. I pop my shield wall bubble...50% dmg reduction, concecrate and HotR."
Icebound Fortitude, its not too hard to build up 20 runic power on the pull and pop it. If you are specced frost you can pop Unbreakable armor for a 25% armor boost and 10% str boost (for extra parry).
Warriors can pop shield wall on the pull too.
You just need to know the tools of your class. The only real difference is you may have to wait 2 or 3 seconds to pop it. And if you have a healer who can't keep you up for 2 seconds, even on a rough pull, its time to either stop tanking or get better healers.
Granted, pally tanking has a smaller learning curve than that of a dk or a warrior, but its still difficult to master, like any tanking class. I've seen plenty of horrible tanks and plenty of amazing ones. The spread is pretty even between classes, its all up to the player to know what they are doing.
Dec 22nd 2009 1:39PM I like her art. It's very nice for comics, which is the medium we're looking at.
The stuff above are in a hyper-realistic style, as a one-off image. It takes a lot of time to make things look that way.
Your comparing apples to oranges. Both are nice for their medium.
Dec 15th 2009 11:49AM You will need to be at least 69 to get into the Nexus and farm Telestra for her hat.
Dec 15th 2009 11:45AM There will be lots of very expensive holiday clothes on the AH. Expect competition.

You guys are getting a pretty decent buff this patch.
Don't run away just yet.
