Arcane Brilliance: The mage survival guide, part 2 {WoW}

Feb 14th 2011 7:35PM Fire is actually pretty fun to kite with, too. glyphed Blast Wave gives a wonderful ranged aoe daze, which is amazing. Between that and the fact that fire mages can do almost 90% of the normal damage numbers while running at full speed, kiting as fire is a breeze (provide that you have enough room to maneuver).

I am also a fan of using CoC followed immediately by blink to stay away from whatever I'm kiting. Between that and Blast Wave, kiting for Ascendant Lord Obsidius is actually pretty painless.

Feb 12th 2011 4:23PM P.S. Normally I do try pretty hard to watch my threat, but I was having too much fun on that run and was less cautious about it than I usually am.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Warriors react to patch 4.0.6 {WoW}

Feb 12th 2011 4:20PM I've been having a lot of fun DPSing as fury in 4.0.6. In fact, at times I've been having a bit too much fun. I actually had to switch to 1h+shield when dpsing h.SFK a few nights ago, in order to reduce the frequency with which I pulled aggro off the tank and make it easier on the healer (and myself) those times when I did pull aggro. We didn't have the best tank, to be sure, but it's not a problem that I'm used to having. I still came out #1 in dps on some of those fights where I had to switch to a shield. Thank you, 4.0.6. :)

Jan 28th 2011 2:54PM I just had an awesome thought -- Blizz should use the "unobtanium nodes" (love the Avatar reference btw) as a sort of honey pot for the underground mining scum. They're probably the only ones who have a chance of getting those nodes, so Blizz could just set up a process that automatically bans (or flags for review) the account of anybody who mines the node.

Wouldn't that rock?

Jan 26th 2011 7:41PM While it's true that the person who is tanking Ozruk needs to know what they're doing in order to get past him, that doesn't have to be "the tank". On my dps fury warrior, I've wound up swapping to a sword n' board and tanking him down through over half his total health after the tank got pwned early on. You spend so much time running away from his frontal aoe attack and his shatter that you don't actually spend all that much time getting hit by melee.

So he's not quite as brutal on non-prot tanks as some heroic bosses. :)

Thankfully for Sinestra, dragons hatch from eggs, rather than being born live.

Jan 18th 2011 2:59PM I meant to say that Wrath heroics have always contained some epic* drops, unlike Cata heroics.

That is incorrect. The final boss in Wrath heroics always dropped an epic item. They also dropped blue loot, and all of the other bosses in the heroics only dropped blue loot, but Wrath heroics have always contained at least some heroic drops, unlike Cata heroics.
