Breakfast Topic: When will you quit playing WoW? {WoW}

Nov 27th 2009 8:55AM i will not buy cataclysm. i want to see the end of the current story arc but after 2 expansions, i've dedicated enough time to this excellent game. leaving the friends will be the hardest thing to do. the amount of time required to be good at this game is just too much

Breakfast Topic: Love is in the Air! {WoW}

Feb 11th 2009 9:26AM I met up for a date with a guildie and brought along a Strathome Lily.

May not be the most romantic flower but the effort in getting it shows that you care.

Are Death Knights autowin in PvP? {WoW}

Feb 11th 2009 7:00AM ret pallies are one of the only counterclasses to DKs atm, but the darling of blizz is virtually unbeatable.

Breakfast Topic: Pranks {WoW}

Jan 29th 2009 9:32AM in SSC as we approached Morogrim Tidewalker we used to send a new rouge or hunter in to aggro the boss to clear the last pack of pesky murlocks.

Our RL was always very clear on his instructions that the newbie had to aggro the boss, try and hold threat for at least 10 seconds for the adds to disappear and only then pop FD/Vanish. A shout of, "yes! i dodged" was soon followed by the splat of their body and laughs of the guild.

It always seemed to make up for the number of repair bills and wipes which the hiding classes avoided.

Breakfast topic: Of Newbies and n00bs {WoW}

Jan 22nd 2009 9:14AM Attitude makes a great difference here. I ran a (normal) nexus with a guildie who ran out of ammo halfway through the instance. She apologised profusely and we agreed it would be much more amusing to let her melee than wait for her to get more ammo.

She plays casually so more questing rather than instances and with the levelling speeds increased, I don't think you can set a level limit for learning.

By contrast there is another guild member who 80, is constantly demanding help, doing badly and generally a bit of an ass. Do I feel like helping them? nope.

Breakfast Topic: Who will dual specs benefit most? {WoW}

Jan 16th 2009 9:02AM tbh as a ret pally I will probably have my raiding and pvp builds dual specced. the changing of glyphs and talents makes it expensive to get a few bgs/arena games during the week and raid at weekends.

Breakfast Topic: Don't you mean the *healer* shortage? {WoW}

Dec 9th 2008 8:54AM
as a % of healers would've respecced DK, that would have reduced the numbers.

paladin changes have made ret much preferred, that would have reduced the numbers.

a number of changes to 'nerf' the overpowered druid and priests spells, i suppose, that may have reduced the numbers.

I was holy pally at 70, levelled to 80 as prot as holy dps was bad and repeatedly nerfed as part of the ret debacle.

I've healed a couple of heroics and it is so much harder, albeit not impossible, to cope with the aoe damage. There are a couple of nice new spells to play with, it is no longer a 2 button job, but tanking is fun, dps is fun, healing seems too much like work atm.

[UPDATED] Paladin changes in patch 3.0.3 {WoW}

Nov 4th 2008 2:53PM some really nice changes for holy pallies but the loss in dps from Hammer, Seal and even AW is ridiculous.

Blizz tried to do something good, went too far with Ret, now is indescriminately nerfing all paladins. Yes, the haste will be nice, so will the range, but healing isn't the issue, especially with the levelling grind 8 days away.

The Light and How to Swing It: Uncle {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2008 8:30AM everytime someone says fairies don't exist, a fairy dies.

every time a server restarts, a paladin gets nerfed.

As a healadin, these baseline nerfs are getting ridiculous and causing nothing but resentment across the wow community. Blizzard got it wrong and are not fixing it properly. Did some ret paladin dev destroy his boss or something? is this pay back? Please take off the +healing effect to AW.

The Colosseum: Stormie, of Shadow Council {WoW}

Aug 18th 2008 7:38AM Stormie is a great player.

Not many will know that his skill in PvE is also at the scarier end of dangerous but his nature is that he is always willing to help others with advice.

my favourate quote was watching him duel an extremely skilled lock who said,

Lock: "I would've killed you if it wasn't for Line of Sight issues.
Stormie: "but LoS is my element sir."
