I know that 'Mists of Pandaria' had some kind of tag in the copyright that meant it was a piece of Software. I don't know much more about it than that though... so I gotta ask.

Has anyone thought that this might turn out to be some kind if Smartphone game, rather than an expansion to WoW? With all the premium apps they're developing, like the Auction House app, and wanting to gain subscribers to some kind of higher-tier account on top of Warcraft subscriptions, a bundle that includes a Smartphone Pandaren game with the AH app and whatever else they got would go a long way towards bringing tons of people in to pay that extra $2 a month (or whatever it costs).

Oct 2nd 2011 11:35AM While I support this idea, I can see how a number of people wouldn't, as well as potential problems. It would require the skill-up system to be redone -- you'd get sick of the mini-games fast if you only got 1 measly skill point for an item crafted, or even 5 points per item. More points than that, however... say, 10 or 20 depending on how well you play, and suddenly the professions might become TOO easy to level, at least by Blizzard's possible standards.

The other potential problem is people who craft items quickly as a favor to others between doing the things they want to do. You'd see a lot less "I'm heading out to a raid and I need this enchant quick!" requests being filled if it took a few minutes to play a mini-game for each enchant, and people would only craft items for others through /trade during "business hours", rather than responding pretty quickly to "Have Mats Will Tip" calls.

Is that all bad? Not necessarily. But while mini-games would be fun for a little while, eventually you'd start to feel a little quality of life lacking from professions -- the games would probably get boring and frustrating. If you had an option to disable the game and automatically produce an average item, people wouldn't do it because the game is full of min/maxers who only want THE BEST. Then people are sick and tired of a required game that they don't want to play anymore... it could get messy, is my point there.

Hey everyone! Remember how Divine Protection reduced damage by 50% with a 3-minute cooldown? Wasn't it awesome when they nerfed that, and gave it back to us at 85 as a "brand new spell" in Guardian of Ancient Kings?

I hope we stop seeing things like this.

Also, I believe that any panda-related law in China re: depiction of harm is a myth.

Aug 17th 2011 8:19PM WotLK T7-level raids have a lot of gear that re-uses the DK starting gear models, and even some WotLK Heroics do, too. If you lost all those, it's still possible to get the aesthetic back.
