Jul 2nd 2010 2:50PM There are just as many 18+ that spout this kind of nonsense as there are 12-14+. Also, just because a game is rated M doesn't mean that a parent won't get it for their kid who is not 18.
As someone else said, spend a night or two on Xbox Live playing Halo/CoD/etc., and you'll be thankful that WoW doesn't include mandatory Voice for certain pieces of the game.
Jan 29th 2009 9:44AM The mages in our 25 man group likes to drop Stonard portals when people are looking for Dalaran portals at the end of the raid. Because of this, I'll usually just burn my hearth, or wait from some other unsuspecting soul to click the portal first. Raid chat will usually light up after that with whoever ended up in stonard.
One of them got creative and dropped a portal in the middle of the 4 horseman chest this week. I don't think they got anyone, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
I may have to try the Misdirect trick on a clothie in either a 10 man or a dungeon. Too bad MD is a fairly obvious spell.
Jan 7th 2009 3:18PM Only bad thing about skipping one of the starter zones as a hunter - No experience for any pets when going back to the starting zones at 80 :(
So, to level pets, you have to do the dailies or do mob grinding in Icecrown, Scholazar, Storm Peaks or a regular/heroic 76+ level instance.
Once my pets are 80, I work through the remaining starting zone, and then start working on the loremaster requirements from the other zones. Still have some quests I need to do in Outlands and Vanilla WoW to get my loremaster and 3000+ quest achievements.
Dec 17th 2008 10:21AM I ran heroic Nexus with a bear tank, as a hunter, and we ended up using the freezing arrow trap to pull. I'd drop the ice trap pratically on top of the caster that we'd cc, and then the rest would come towards me and the tank would then swipe at that point. Originally, as a hunter, I thought the Freezing arrow trap was going to be a "eh" talent, but for pulls with DKs and Bears, it seems to work really, really well.
With a hunter in the group, especially with DKs and Bears - MD and either multi-shot or volley is your best friend. I did this a ton in a VH run with a DK tanking. When I MD, I can usually get 2 instant shots and an auto shot in before the MD is finished.
I know the rogues got a similar ability, but I can't remember what it is.
Personally, I prefer going with bear tanks, when possible, because they are a more consistent group lead than some of the other tanks I run with (Mob marking, CC, etc). I'm getting used to DKs as tanks, but they tend to be a little more creative in their pulls, etc. Warriors tend to be good tanks, when they are good players.
Pally's seem to be very much an avengers shield followed by consecrate and AOE them down. The advantage here is I can start unloading the minute I see consecrate hit. Disadvantage is that it makes me a lazy dps'er.
Dec 3rd 2008 9:51AM Threat for DK - I ran regular violet hold and regular old kingdom back to back with a DK tank who used to be a warrior tank. We did have a few threat issues in Violet hold, but the tank was 76/77, healer was 80, elemental shammy at 80, my hunter at 76/77 and a mage at 74.
A misdirect with a volley/multishot solidified the tank's aggro in VH, just like any other normal tank. Once he built his threat, there was only 1 or 2 instances where I got the standard 90% threat warning from Omen, and that was on trash as opposed to the boss.
The burstiness of his damage was an issue, but the healer was overgeared for the instance, so it wasn't a huge issue. Running the instance with people only geared to the instances would have been a different story, I think.
As with all other classes, you'll find good DK tanks, and you'll find bad DK tanks.
Nov 21st 2008 5:06PM AFAIK - If you are not in a "championing tabard" for a level 80 dungeon, you will receive rep with the baseline Alliance/Horde rep groups in Northrend.
I could be mistaken about this, but that's what I've seen either on this site, or on one of the other news sites.
Nov 13th 2008 9:30AM Free stuff? Sweet!
Nov 7th 2008 12:30PM Why would you want to secure your stuff? As long as this if free, its good for me.
Nov 6th 2008 2:04PM Can I have a polar bear mount?
