The Art of War(craft): Gearing up for PvP {WoW}

Jul 20th 2009 9:36AM You can build a VERY nice WoW computer for $500-600 dollars these days if you order online. Just do the research. Its fun and the learning curve these days is not very steep. Your current case may work but I suggest building from scratch so you can get a case with better ventilation. Some tips:
1. The more fans the better.
2. At least 4GB of ram.
3. A $100 video card will run everything on high settings. To get to Ultra you will need to double or triple your budget. Is it even worth it? Up to you.

Rare mobs in classic, BC, and Wrath {WoW}

Aug 20th 2008 1:42PM Rare spawns are what really get your heart pumping in these online games. The trick for developers is make it random enough that time and/or luck is what will get you the rare spawn with the great loot table.
Everquest developers used this to great effect. Rare mobs like, Blugtigin, Thistle Underbrush, Stormfeather, an ancient cyclops, and Sarnak Courier could really give you an adrenalin rush and help your character become more powerful with exotic quest gear. Wish Blizzard would implement more of this.
