Mar 12th 2012 5:56PM A Blacksmithing perk that wasn't dependent on another crafting profession would be nice. All other crafting Tradeskill perks are self-sufficient and the cost is often low, whereas Blacksmiths add two sockets to their gear that are useless without a Jewelcrafter. Assuming you do the standard Blacksmithing/Mining combination, you have to have an alt or find someone to prospect your ore and cut your gems, or buy them from the Auction House, which ends up costing 500-600G or more for the standard +80 primary stat bonus.
Hell, even the Item Enhancement creation for Blacksmithing, Belt Buckles, requires Jewelcrafting to be utilized in conjunction, which splits the price of the Buckle. Tailoring and Leatherworking Armor Kits work with nothing further required and sell for 2-3 times, or more, the price of Belt Buckles do when you take out the cost of gems going to a separate profession.
The fact is, for the three standard equipment-creation tradeskills, the main thing that keeps them pertinent to the general population is item enhancement. As you upgrade your equipment, you continue to use gems, enchants, armor kits and so on. Whereas armor and weapons become marginalized and eventually irrelevant, often by the time the next patch is released. This problem is further compounded by the heavy restriction on required materials. Metal Bars which seem almost perpetually dependent on Alchemy Transmutation - with a cooldown limitation, Chaos Orbs - which had numerous problems from the start of Cataclysm, and later tiers having their own Chaos Orb equivalents, and even recipes themselves often being Raid or World Drops only. It would be nice to spend an entire expansion crafting something more than shields for freshly level-capped players.
Jul 14th 2011 3:16PM You're better off waiting until you generate your first Holy Power after a 3p Inquisition refresh. From 0 holy power to 3 will take you roughly 12 seconds. Better to wait that extra couple seconds to insure you don't lose Guardian of Ancient Kings before AW/Zeal wear off.
Mar 30th 2011 5:48PM Another alternative for inquisition tracking is to use a buff mod. I use Elkano's BuffBars and create a group set to whitelist only Inquisition and place it near my Holy Power and action bars. That way I always know where Inquisition is at, not just when I need to refresh it.
An alternative to CLCret is clcinfo, powerful though it is a bit more daunting to set up. I don't use any of the ability tracking/suggestion features any more, but I still use the Holy Power bar. Have it set up to display a copy of the Blizzard one near my action bars when in combat .
Power Auras is great, I use it for reminders. Warnings in case Seal of Truth falls off, Crusader Aura or no Aura active, etc. And, of course, the big, pulsing Bloodlust icon for RAWRRAWRRAWR.
