Mar 29th 2011 1:43PM Yeah I was curious about this too. I know we are unlikely to come out on top due to only having the one dot on a cd, but that dot contributes a hefty portion of ele dps, so its worth asking. Particularly with the upcoming changes in 4.1 where it will matter mor on aoe fights as well.

interesting fact, last thing JFK did before signing the cuban embargo was have a bunch of cuban cigars delivered
Oct 16th 2010 3:08AM to be honest I think both have changed. And I agree that much of the responsibility lies with dps'ers. I am a fervent believer in the premise:
tank dies:healer's fault
healer dies: tank's fault
dps dies: their own damn fault
however, as a ele shammy main my overall aoe output has significantly decreased on most pulls not just because of spell changes but from the fact chain lightning is not part of our small group rotation anymore on many pulls. despite this tank threat has been problematic on secondary and tertiary mobs in a pull. I belieave this is the result of the new tanking paradigm since it has occurred even in guild run groups with tanks I would normally absolutely trust and dps'ers who know how to single target burn before swapping.
Oct 14th 2010 7:56PM I'm very happy overall with the new patch, although some tanks clearly need to practice their new styles.
1: some kind of in game power aura notification for lightning shield charges to help with timing fulmination-ES into the rotation
2: adjustment to balance's mana issues, it would be nice to occasionally throw innervate to someone else
3: another way to generate holy power as prot, maybe adding it onto avengers shield which has a moderate CD but can proc via grand crusader to speed it up
Oct 9th 2010 2:08AM ty for the clarifying responses.
glad to know that our mastery is going to be as nice as hoped for
was wondering if there were any graphs of compat parses that show opening and burn phase dps vs overall dps from the beta, to see what contribution talents like improved soulfire or execute/HoW actually make and how competitive shammy dps is overall without such abilities.
that being said, i do LOVE ele mastery and the feedback talent just makes it shinier.
Oct 7th 2010 7:49PM can overload LB and CL proc mana returns and charge generation from RT?
approximately how much of our dps is contributed from overload procs?
some classes have definitive changes in their rotations or boosted damage during opening and burn phases, how are ele shamans competing in these areas without such talents?
is hex viable cc in pve? pvp? or is it breaking often before its cd finishes so we end up getting smacked?
Oct 6th 2010 5:14PM absolutely wish they had a dresden files reference in game. and your wish for a tier geared pally with an appropriate name is already granted, mine and many others already exist, although notably most wow players seem to have trouble with a long hard to decipher latin name... i wonder why?
Aug 26th 2010 12:36AM I play a prot main spec, ret off spec. any chance long arm of the law will get moved down to tier 2 so prot can pick it up? I'd even be willing to just give up pursuit of justice. I've been aching for a gap closer since the days of TK and the A'lar fight. It would have been nice to be able to close quickly and tank him instead of getting relegated to floor duty because i don't have a gap closer. I know this is only one old fight, but I still think its a missing tool from the melee paladin kit.
Aug 22nd 2010 2:56AM Thanks!
I figured it was nature of the beta stuff like that, just wanted an expert opinion.
Aug 22nd 2010 12:11AM The article mentioned standard ranges increases across the board. As someone who plays a boomkin and an ele shammy, I noticed that the range increase wasn't across the board, shammies still have to talent. Was this an oversight? or an intentional exclusion along the lines that every class has to talent into different standard bonuses?
