Aug 18th 2011 1:44PM @kingoomieiii Unfortunately Frosts calculations in that article are flawed. First the article only did calculations with 2/3 pathing. Secondly, the shot recommendation used as the basis for the MM hard plateau 2 is horrendously focus negative.
@Samuel Whytefyst over at the hunter section of Elitist Jerks does analyze it that way and he posts is accurate findings in the Marksman thread.
FYI the amount of haste you want to fire 5 steady shots and 2 arcane shots in between Chimera shots without the T-11 4-piece, without the Chimera glyph and with 3/3 pathing is 1235.
Aug 18th 2011 1:33PM There's a better rule to follow Frost and it is to make sure every piece of gear has crit on it. Then take the remaining pieces of gear you have (ones that already have crit on them) and reach the hit cap with those.
The easiest way to do this is to use wowreforge.com. Wowreforge is a simple to use reforging calculator. The calculator already knows what our hit cap is and if you know what your haste plateau is you can input that as well. It will then calculate everything and give you the best result.
May 12th 2011 2:39PM Granted there are a lot of unknowns, however that doesn't mean you can't choose a value for one of the variables and still solve the problem. That's the fun, yet somewhat time consuming aspect of theorycrafting; something that I'll definitely look forward to when more concrete numbers are announced and/or datamined.
Mar 31st 2011 12:15PM I despise the current haste complexity. Armor Pen was never this complex. Also, having a specific, clear number to strive for (the armor pen cap 1400) and knowing that it was absolutely possible to attain with the gear and enchants available is what kept me going to ICC for nearly 12 months.
One thing I'm deathly afraid of is having different stat priorities for different specs. I've been entertaining the thought during T11 and I've gathered 9 other pieces of gear. This is not something I want to do. I don't want to hoard gear or have different sets of gear for different specs.

Mar 17th 2011 5:44PM "All specs raidable, hunters topping the charts, specs more balanced than ever before in the history of WoW, no paying for ammo, no taming pets just to learn abilities, 25 pets in your stable, switching pets on the fly, pets doing thousands of DPS, no danger of pets abandoning you, and now you also don't have to hit Mend Pet every 5 minutes while in town ... Back in my day, we'd consider that some kind of delusional pipe dream. Nowadays, you complain about it."
