The Queue: Why it's not time for a warlock tank {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 11:18AM Hmmm... pure dps class & epic lootz all part of an outmoded MMO system. Gee, I wonder what's gonna come next.

Total war and Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Mar 1st 2012 9:52AM Gee!

I'd just love a job where I can kick around bullshit like this all day. Seriously, though, I think the game designers' greatest fear is losing control of factions along the lines of Stephenson's pastels versus color-clash wars. They will be working overtime to control who fights who...

World of Warcraft War College: Getting Geared {WoW}

Feb 9th 2012 2:29PM Here's my Number One suggestion: stop spending your justice and valor points on BOE PVP gear for the Auction House. Spend those points on PVP gear instead. Justice points will convert to Honor & Valor will convert to Conquest. Way better idea than getting on the hamster wheel with those silly bracers & boots.

Jan 30th 2012 10:35AM Despite several attempts to get my wife involved in WoW, she has resisted. She has said to me, "if WoW came in a board game, I'd play THAT." I know there are TCG games (yawn,) but is there possibly a World of Warcraft board game version?

Ol' Grumpy and the Dragon Soul nerf {WoW}

Jan 20th 2012 3:14PM I am beginning to believe that the whole leveling system is to blame for this issue. Leveling used to be the place where you learned all the skills necessary to raiding, but level-cap inflation has made leveling a chore instead-- and steps have been made to make leveling up as quick and painless as possible. Consequently, there are many players who don't know how to play their class at max level, because they haven't practiced enough.

If so much concentration is given to max-level content, then a paradigm shift is sorely needed. I am afraid that might require a whole new MMO--where levels (well, not ilvl) is irrelevant. Then I believe it would be more cost-effective to have personal training sessions with bots, and other ideas like that there.

Jan 20th 2012 1:42PM Q for the Queue: Does my proximity to my server improve my game performance? Lately, lag has gotten real terrible--like two frames per second in LFR. That might be expected, but things have gotten real terrible everywhere. I just wanted to rule out that I am living on the East coast & using a West coast server. My computer has been acting fine for more than a year-- it just started this hiccuping shortly after moving to a new server.

Jan 13th 2012 2:36PM "It's always possible that Blizzard would take some kind of dramatic overhaul to a core pillar of the game, but I don't think we should read into it very much..."

I think Blizzard wants to experiment with "primaries vs. pastels" before implementing it in a new MMO. Look forward to more liquid factions from here on out.

Which matters more, graphics or gameplay? {WoW}

Jan 10th 2012 1:16PM Is this a rhetorical question? Humans are still playing games with pebbles in a scooped-out plank.

Does WoW need more raid lockout alternatives? {WoW}

Jan 9th 2012 1:25PM With the recent addition of the LFR, I find myself halfway valor-capped after just completing both. Three more heroic dungeons, and I am done for the week.

I think they aught to make raids that are not tied to valor--justice, maybe, or a complete other currency. Those raids should NOT be on the same lockout as the valor-point raids.

I think a raid with Darkmoon Faire tix & rep that runs concurrently with the Faire is a damn brilliant idea.
