Apr 23rd 2010 4:23PM "I tend to be the one that sits back, until I start getting antsy from sitting around too much (between pulls), and then I start getting to be 'that gal that won't shut up'. Of course, I know when I start getting the pst's that it's time to stop.....and then I /sigh"
I have my own solution to getting bored with people waiting to pull something. As a mage, I hit invisibility and run at the boss. Everyone just kinda passes it off as what I do now, but I have had people follow me before and wipe the raid. It's also funny in 25 mans when ~1/2 the raid is my guild and I do that and then I hear everyone on vent screaming at the person stupid enough to follow me.
My raid leader/MT is of about the same thoughts though. He doesn't want to just sit around and wait. It's usually just a few minutes while we're explaining the bosses to a few new guild members who have been coming lately. We even kicked a former guild member because of his random/unannounced afk's after several requests to not do it.
Apr 22nd 2010 10:57AM Back in Burning Crusade, arcane powder (which I assume is what you're talking about instead of arcane dust) only stacked to 20. When Wrath was released (or shortly after), they changed the stacking to 100. You can always check how high something can stack to by shift-clicking and holding down the right arrow until it won't go any more.
Apr 20th 2010 3:32PM @llewsyr,
You fail at mage mechanics. Evocation + mana gems = never having to worry about oom. Life tap =/= endless mana, it just = an angry healer who might refuse to heal you midfight. I know this from the standpoint of a mage and two healers and get irritated if they start life tapping without asking.
Apr 16th 2010 4:24PM My fiance would love to have the celestial steed. She has always been bitter about missing the halllowed helm for the meta achievement two years in a row. I received the hallowed helm twice on my main and once on an alt. This would be nice to give her.
Mar 22nd 2010 2:17PM This is the same system that we use for our guild runs too. No one likes having a guildie win multiple drops in one night while someone else who could have used it for main spec gets nothing. We do have a stipulation that probably most groups have though and that is that main spec is always better than off spec regardless of how many pieces they've already won.
Mar 18th 2010 9:40AM As a mage, I'll buff my buffs of arcane brilliance and put focus magic on the healer. When the dungeon finder utility first came out, I would even drop a table for everyone but people have started pulling so quickly that I don't even worry about it anymore.
I have been in heroics where the pally will buff me with blessing of might. I don't really care because it's a heroic but it should be fairly obvious that a mage wants nothing to do with might. More often though I get wisdom which isn't very useful for a mage in a heroic.
Mar 10th 2010 7:16PM Anyone remember StarCraft for the Nintendo 64? It was horrible to play if you had ever played the computer version. Notice that Blizzard never released Starcraft: Ghost for the console.
Mar 10th 2010 7:10PM Blu-Ray discs actually have the potential to store 200 GB of data on a single disc but the technology hasn't quite reached that potential. Each layer can store up to 25 GB with a maximum of 8 layers (by varying the exact wavelength among other things). I'm not even sure if they're up to dual layer Blu-Ray discs but the potential is there to have everything on one disc including when it had to be patched (provided the console has burning capabilities.
Mar 5th 2010 9:28AM I'm like you. I don't really care about the gold. I will ask for enough to cover the cost of the reagent though which I buy at exalted for 16 silver.
Things I'll never do which started with my first toon is ride on a mechanostrider. My first toon was a gnome mage and I grinded Darnassus rep until I hit lvl 43 and hit exalted + had enough gold to purchase my mount.
Also, I will never raid as dps on any other toon than my mage. I do raid on my shaman and death knight but I only heal and tank, respectively.
Mar 2nd 2010 10:11AM I welcome the changes for my resto shaman. This means that after level 40, a resto shaman can level much easier from having an elemental offspec since that will be the exact same gear (the way I read the notes). I have a mage main but a fairly well geared resto shaman alt that I've never bothered to roll on offspec gear for. If I'm going to dps, it'll be on my mage so I've thought that the off spec gear was better used as a shard instead. As soon as it gets to be time to start leveling again, my shaman will be ready to level again by using an elemental offspec because of the changes.
