Reader UI of the Week: Kiela's UI {WoW}

Apr 27th 2010 7:22PM I hardly ever access my spell book at all anymore. Thanks to opie, rings bound to buttons, you can access those portals/food/mounts, whatever you can imagine to put on them. I only have the essential abilitys like mentioned above on the bars, and opie as a way to access the other things at one button press, all organised in neat circles. Will there be a article on opie? Or has there been one in the past that I may have missed? Opie definately helps clean up the ui and remove all the un-needed buttons from the screen that you dont need in combat etc...

Mar 16th 2010 8:05PM Perhaps blizzard could hire some voice actors to read out the quests from your log, like a little play and stop button? So you could listen to the quest as you headed off to do it, this could add a level of immersion if done correctly. Most people don't even read the quest log anyway, and get really confused and end up wowheading how to complete the quest. In my opinion this would be a step forward in quest design. Ontop of making them easier to undestand!

Though there are 1000's of quests in wow, I'm sure blizzard would be able to pull this off pretty well.

Jan 27th 2010 5:43PM I've got a question for The Queue.

With the battle.net changes that will be coming allowed cross server and cross game support so you can talk to your friends while in each game etc... I was wondering if it will be possible to group up for 5 man instances (so we can use the lfg tool) with my friends from other servers?

(we're all in the same battlegroup, we've managed to get into groups before using the lfg tool and picking a specific instance, though the more of us their are, the harder it is to get us all together!)

Disenchanting in dungeons in patch 3.3 {WoW}

Dec 7th 2009 2:50PM I'd like the idea that an enchanter gets a small bonus if someone wins a DE roll if this current system is implementated. Such as a couple infinite dust or if they are lucky a planar essence/dream shard (very rare chance?). Therefore enchanters cant complain that the trade skill is being used without their permission as they gain no benefit from it. Enchanters would then not mind people rolling DE on items, (and would even welcome it?), as they get a small benefit from bringing there trade skill for everyone to use. It's either that or taxing the winner of the DE roll item a fraction of the vendor price and giving it to the enchanter. It'd work a little bit like a tip so even if the enchanter doesnt win any items to de, he atleast gains a little from his proffession in the instance. Obviously this may have to be tuned accordingly to the extra dust given to the enchanter.

One thing I havnt thought about is if there are multiple enchanters in the group, possibly half the mats each or just one dust each? or a hidden roll on the extra dust to assign it to a random player? Or just give all the enchanters the full bonus (this could be exploited however with 5 enchanters joining in the early nights to gain lots of mats together).

Please leave your opinions on this. I believe this would make everyone happy and would possibly mean more enchanters wanting to run older content for some easy dust? Just like say a skinner runs a heroic for emblems AND skinning the mobs.

The Queue: Somebody has a case of the Mondays! {WoW}

Apr 6th 2009 2:44PM I was wondering if there has been any news on blizzard fixing the bug with the [Charmed Ancient Bone Bow] and [Upgraded Dwarven Hand Cannon]. Both BoA weapons. For hunters there is a bug with steady shot while using these weapons, where it's only taking the level 1 stat dps of the bow to calculate steady shot damage (something along these lines, I cant quite remember), and apparently blizzard is not looking into fixing this problem? I feel like I've wasted my emblems on this bow as now my hunter is getting into his early 60's you can really feel it's impact dps.
