Dec 1st 2011 2:57PM Really interesting- but is this really only available for XBL Gold Members? Why wouldn't they give XBL silver members the option to pay per view this like they do with other tv, and movies?
Aug 31st 2009 7:04PM EVE Online's largest player? That's impressive in itself.
Jul 29th 2009 7:11PM Look, I'm a 3GS user who's generally pretty happy. And fortunately, I grabbed the GV Mobile app before the ban, so I'm actually fine.
Still, this crazy policy will make me think twice about buying their tablet in 4 months, if they have the same crazy app store and policies.
Jul 27th 2009 5:29PM Ugh, dishes spam in my facebook feed is exactly what I don't want.
Thank god this app looks tedious so none of my friends will use it anyway.
Jun 17th 2009 2:45PM Exactly, this is some calculated useless PR gesture bullshit right here. Most users bought the 2 year contract with around a 90 dollar plan. My plan comes out to 105 actually, but that's with taxes, so they must be using a pre-tax amount to calculate eligibility. From the anecdotes, this only affects people who bought crazy minutes or the horribly unusable international plan.
So some guy at AT&T put together an Excel spreadsheet and calculated that they could put this in, and they'd only lose like the revenues from like 50 upgrades or something ridiculously low, and still they could get a ton of good PR from all the web logs and crap.
I call bullshit.
Jun 11th 2009 4:27PM WTF, it's saying I have to be on WiFi to download this?
Apr 27th 2009 11:10AM This was a strange article. It's not like the hackintosh is advertising anything beyond it's capacity. If you can't fit your apps in a 16GB hard drive, you should buy a 32 GB hard drive... It's very easy to see what you'll need ahead of time.
Yes, the computer doesn't have multi-touch. Yes the keyboard is terrible. If you can't live with either of those, don't get this computer.
As it is, for browsing my google reader, IMming friends, and using Skype on trips, I think the Dell Mini 9 has completely exceeded my expectations as a 400 dollar mac notebook.
Feb 26th 2009 11:48AM I found an old article detailing how to do this in an old safari, I'll give it a try when I get home:
Feb 26th 2009 12:51AM Anyone know how to get the slash-search as you type functionality from firefox working in this?
Feb 2nd 2009 4:14PM "Let me pay a monthly fee for unlimited access to the full library, and I'll do it."
It's funny I made this exact same suggestion to a friend last week about making a practical Apple TV monthly subscription model, and he made a good counter argument (he works in TV, so I guess he just knows the intricacies very well). TV content in the US is strange in that it is much more active in certain months than others. Saavy consumers would pick and choose which months to subscribe to, and only the lazy or stupid would subscribe during the relatively dry summer months. Instead, they'd really have to go to an annual subscription model, which is probably too big a pill for consumers of new media to swallow.
