Nov 27th 2009 11:12PM I quit a few months back myself. What is interesting to see, from the comments, is that people have an easier time quitting WoW, than WoW Insider. :)
Aug 1st 2009 8:33AM I've often passed over upgrades, while lvling, because a piece of gear looked better. You have all of end game to worry about better gear - and looking like everyone else - have fun and wear what you want while getting there...
As for playing with kids. My son, 10, plays and while the kids' computer is right next to mine, sometimes he will sneak on and play early in the morning before I wake up. He knows better than to spam duels/trades, beg for gold or otherwise pester ppl. He pretty much sticks to himself and flies around on his bronze drake trying to look cool :)
Last week, while lvling in hellfire with a friend, we encountered a DK who wanted to tank ramps. Having quests, we went along. His english wasn't the best and he was a little slow pulling groups, but otherwise he was respectful, eager and not a half bad tank. His actions and typing did have us wondering if he was not a native English speaker or a kid. We ran into him again, ran another and my friend started asking questions about where he was from. The 'my dad says I cant answer that', answered our questions pretty quick. His dad then got on and talked to us for a bit, I assured him we weren't weirdos and came to find out he was 10. Needless to say, I was impressed.
Jul 30th 2009 2:29AM Great article, I really enjoyed reading all of it.
My 9 yr old son plays WoW as well, and this summer his toon finally hit 80. While he is in the same guild as I am, a raiding one, he isn't allowed to raid. This has as much to do with his age, as the fact his computer is old and horribly laggy. If it wasn't so bad, I'd try to have him brought along. Of all the retarded stuff I've seen adults do in raids, I don't think he'd do much worse.
In fact, I've love to take him to Naxx and have him get the Safety Dance achievement, just to say 'see, its so easy a child can do it.' lol.
Jun 19th 2009 8:11AM I don't normally bother, but I can't wait to see how the new druid forms look!
Jun 10th 2009 6:01PM Canadian as well, got my pet and fuel without jumping through hoops. I don't see why we shouldn't get them. We play on 'US' servers, they sell Dew in Canada (even if it has no caffiene, oddly enough). It would be cool if they were releasing the special Dew up here, but I've only ever seen the reg. yellow stuff where I am. I'll stick to Dr. Pepper, thanks. :)
Jun 6th 2009 6:43AM I've poured over the list of addons used to create this ui, but I'm at a loss for what was used to draw all the custom panel lines.
As well, how about the xperl frames, mine are pretty..ugly. Is there a way to skin them?
Jun 2nd 2009 1:35PM Eyes look weird.
Nose ring is, odd.
Paws look too small.
Horns too big.
Still looks very...Male.
Its a lot better than before, but I cant help but be a little disappointed. /sad
Jun 2nd 2009 8:08AM I think its the ears vs horns thing that makes the nelf bears look...mediocre. Bears w/o horns (mob ones, not rl:) look out of place to me now if they don't have horns. They make us stand out, look a bit more fearsome.
It could be the eyes too...
ps, tauren kitty form....squeee...it better be awesome, long have I envied the purple cats.
May 25th 2009 4:17PM Too cute, any chance of getting the pattern for them?:)
May 13th 2009 6:36PM My favourite item of the month is my Rituals of the New Moon. I try to sucker ppl into telling them that druids got a new wolf form :>
