Many lives spared: PS3 'Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon' canceled {Joystiq}

Nov 28th 2008 9:08PM Yes, the PS3 has a nice gfx card, but you need to remember that it only has ONE general purpose core on its CPU which really limits what it can do. The PS3 has great CPU power, but for only certain applications (such as physics due to the extra cores on the cpu being floating point units only). The XBOX 360 has 3x general purpose cores that can be told to compute anything they like, not just floating point calculations. Also, although the ps3 is a fast unit, it also has an abysmal memory bandwidth, just 1/10th of the XBOX 360's. So yes the gfx are powerful, but at the moment, they are spent waiting for instructions from the CPU that is lagging behind. Kinda like running a geforce 280 on a celeron 1.4ghz, doesnt mean you're going to get amazing graphics. If you dont believe what I am saying, please read a little further, and just pop into your store to see how many titles on ps3 run at 1080p compared to the XBOX360, and you will find that there are FAR MORE 1080P titles on the xbox 360. And before you call me a sony hater, i have a ps3! Because of the many single purpose cores and one general purpose core on the processor, porting games to the PS3 is a lot harder because the xbox 360 has 3 general purpose cores, so you have to literally recode it to work efficiantly on the Cell processor.

The Queue: Death Knights in the arena and other things {WoW}

Nov 28th 2008 7:56PM Remember you can silence DK's, they are useless when silenced!

Exploitation and the demise of Heroic Leap {WoW}

Nov 27th 2008 6:38PM Well, why do u need heroic leap if you have charge? Cat form druids were given the leap thing because they had no other move to pursue targets when they ran away from them, they had to use sprint (which has a mighty cooldown). I think charge ability is sweet, and it stuns the target, so why bother with another charge?

More Wrath deals around the world {WoW}

Nov 7th 2008 6:59PM Wooties, I made it on the site! True though, its a good deal!

Aussie AG halts R18+ rating for games indefinitely {Joystiq}

Oct 30th 2008 12:40AM Hey all. Just thought that I would let you know that the Aussie game retailer, Gametraders, is one of the few companies in Australia to voice their objection over the lack of an R18+ rating for games. At the moment, they are launching a campaign to get the law through and all Gametraders stores have petitions in store that you can sign to voice your opinion. Please sign this, and be a part of the movement!

Skill Mastery: Thunderstorm {WoW}

Sep 25th 2008 9:30PM I have a 70 elemental shaman, I can say that this needed to come ages ago. Elemental shamans are the only class in the game without a stun, or fear. At least when ur enhancement, you have some sort of defence from melee, u just turn around and belt the hell out of them. However, when ur elemental, you have to frostshock and hope it works. Problem is, if you have a movement impairing ability (such as inflicted with poison) its useless, because they can still just keep up with you. At least mages and warlocks have fear or freeze to help them against this, but its not possible as an elemental shaman, you might as well just go afk and die in peace.

I never have any problems with mana regen though, and I reckon that 45secs for a cd is a bit low, maybe one minute might make it a little "fairer". I can imagine that you wont be able to use the new move in a raid, could u imagine knocking back a mob into another mob... eww.
