[Updated] Celebrate LotRO's anniversary with free Turbine Points from Massively! {Massively}

Apr 26th 2011 11:31AM It'd be a toss-up between storage or quests. Storage leads the way, since I'm pretty low-level, and have all kinds of vanilla content to explore ahead of me.

Minecraft site suffering from Denial of Service attacks {Big Download}

Oct 21st 2010 3:16PM It wouldn't surprise me. Check out some of the comments on Notch's blog. The sense of entitlement some of these morons have. I fancy I've amortized my purchase of Minecraft at about 45¢/hr. My basic cable doesn't even deliver that kind of entertainment. And yet there are commenters calling him every insult in the book because updates are a little slower. Some idiot even called him out on Twitter for going out for lunch.

I'm glad Notch has a thick skin. I think the whole thing would be wearing on me.

Sep 26th 2010 10:51AM Pick me! That way I can graduate from FreeCiv!

(I kid, FreeCiv devs, I love you).

GoG.com's execs apologize (kind of) for shut down hoax {Big Download}

Sep 22nd 2010 3:55PM I have to say, the "I'm sorry you were offended" thing really bugs me, too.

Hey, GOG, next time you want publicity, and you don't care if it's negative or not, or who you hurt, why don't you all go have a crotch-kicking contest in a crowded public space.

GoG.com's execs apologize (kind of) for shut down hoax {Big Download}

Sep 22nd 2010 3:50PM Here's what these idiots don't get: this is what we're all kind of afraid of when we buy downloaded games. So what they've done is betrayed their customers for hype, locked us out of games we've bought from them, thrown the promises they made in their marketing talk right out the window, and eroded trust in a whole market.

If I was Steam, D2D, Impulse, I'd be mad. Now in the back of every potential new customer's mind is "what if these guys just up and disappear one night?"

I'm annoyed with myself, realising I will likely do business with these jerks again. But it'd have to be a really great deal. I used to toss them a few bucks if there was a game I thought I may want to play later on showing up in the weekend sales. Now I'll think twice.

Remember, this isn't the first time something fishy has happened with GOG, either. They've had games disappear from distribution in the past.

There are a lot of people out there saying "why so hard on GOG?" When you're not buying a physical disk, you're buying on trust. GOG has shown that they can't really be trusted, they'll sell you out for a few dozen blog articles.

Ubisoft DRM PC game servers under attack . . . again [Update] {Big Download}

Mar 8th 2010 6:14PM I hate to be the big cynic, but we only have Ubisoft's word that it's an attack. Personally, I don't trust 'em.

Al Gore taunted at shareholders' meeting, gets 10k more options anyway {TUAW.com}

Mar 2nd 2010 4:14AM Man, here's hoping TUAW turns off comments, too.

Al Gore taunted at shareholders' meeting, gets 10k more options anyway {TUAW.com}

Mar 2nd 2010 4:13AM Oh, do you mean this scientist, who came forward and said that the Mail completely distorted his comments?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8511670.stm

"E - How confident are you that warming has taken place and that humans are mainly responsible?

"I'm 100% confident that the climate has warmed. As to the second question, I would go along with IPCC Chapter 9 - there's evidence that most of the warming since the 1950s is due to human activity."

It seems perhaps you, sir, are the idiot.
