Mar 12th 2010 2:52PM A very welcome change. Sometimes its not a case of ninja'ing so much as different groups with different cultures. I've come across people who say most groups they run with greed, and others who say most groups need. I usually ask or wait till others have rolled and go with the majority.
Other items that should be automatic greed imho:
- Hilts (while not everyone can use a sword, everyone can sell them and buy a nice upgrade with the money).
- Books of Glyph Mastery
- Any BOE pattern (we all have alts) - you can always pass it on to a guild or gp member who needs it for a personal use
- Any mount (automatic greed for those who can use it and don't already have it.) Again, you can always decide to trade it to someone within the gp.
I just think this would cut out the anxiety and anger over ninjas, accidental or intentional.
Jan 8th 2010 11:43AM Millions of people play this game, some are computer savvy and know how to protect themselves from hackers, others don't understand and are easy targets for the gold sellers. Yes, you can tell them it's there fault and to wise up, but they are still victims of a crime.
A bigger issue is how hard Blizzard is really working to cut out the gold sellers and hackers from their game. Does it make economic sense to do so? How many players do they lose because they got their accounts hacked? How many players are kept entertained and kept playing because they bought a bag of gold and now have a sweet mount? There is a certain gold seller with a girl's name that has been advertising in trade chat for years, how easy would it have been for Blizzard to put a block on the text in this sellers messages? Yet they have never done so, the seller has never seemed to have to disguise their name with incorrect spelling or characters.
The proposed change seems a cost cutting method, in order to spend less money on staff cleaning up the gold sellers mess. Only if players shout loud enough or start leaving the game in herds because of being hacked and Blizzards response, might they start to do something about it. And gold selling will only stop if people stop buying gold, which will never happen as its so shiny.
Jul 8th 2009 11:00AM I'm sorry, but I feel it would have been more helpful to link some of the more complete lists already out there, than put together a partially complete list like this one. For instance you can find a series of articles on gearing up your hunter for raiding on my blog site - Steady Shot - starting with this one: http://wowwhimsy.wordpress.com/2009/01/08/pre-raiding-level-80-hunter-gear-part-1/
You can also find it by googling Steady Shot Tinuviel.

I agree School of Hard Knocks is going to be a nightmare. There are threads on the US and EU forums begging Blizzard to change this achievement. I also think it should be changed. While I have no problem with some of the achievements for the meta achievement being difficult or pvp based, I think this one is extremely ill conceived.
Surely, this is a chance to get people who don't usually pvp into battlegrounds and have some fun, so that some of them might be likely to come back. Instead, they are setting up a situation where a lot of people are going to be very angry, frustrated and disappointed, and where BGs are not played as they are intended to be played. Wouldn't it be better to ask you to win one of each BG with you infant in toe or something like that, or even go honor farming and get x honorable kills? I really hope, as the writer says, that you can get the achievement for being in the immediate proximity - but that doesn't usually register for some of these, does it?
Blizzard will not have been able to test it out on the PTRs properly, and one can only hope that, if they don't change it, and it goes wrong, they take it out of the meta achievement retrospectively.
Aug 29th 2008 10:45AM Thanks for posting my picture! These boats are fantastic; and even better they provide travel up and down the coast between the Tuskarr villages. This is the easiest way I have found, so far, to get between the two starting zones, Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. You don't have to have discovered all the villages, as you do Flight Paths (at least in the Beta), just talk to the Tuskarr dockmaster or get on a boat at your current village.
