Sep 7th 2010 9:35AM Trap Launcher, Freezing Trap, Scattershot, FD Wyvern Sting, I think I can CC 2 or 3 campers long enough to recamo, with one of those CC's being usable without breaking Camo itself. Could you imagine a single Hunter against a double DPS composition in 2v2? Screw their ally, the hunter will just keep dropping the damaging traps with impunity until the opponents eventually die.
Sep 7th 2010 2:53AM I would rather retain stealth than to give it up for camouflage, and here's the biggest reason why... we are a melee class. If our enemy can see us, even with all the immunity in the world we lose the element of surprise which is our single biggest advantage, and we'll probably have to blow a sprint cooldown just to get to start the fight... this is particularly a big problem for Assassination and Combat Rogues. Second off, we don't have any damaging abilities that would qualify for the "Trap" Exception that camoflauge makes, all our damaging abilities trigger the auto-attack anyways which would break our stealth. Camo in it's current state simply is not beneficial for the Rogue's design because unlike hunters, we have to get close to our target and it wouldn't help at all if a player sees us coming from 15 yards away, mounts up and essentially kites us.
Now, why will this "Immune to everything" thing change? Because of Arenas. A player who can remain immune to everything indefinitely because the duration is equal to the cooldown? If he's last man standing, there is the potential that they'll grief the hell out of arena teams who legitimately won in the same way that the Rogues and Druids potential for doing the same thing caused Blizzard to put that truesight buff into the Arenas for.
Sep 6th 2010 4:49PM Some over-used RP things
Elves + Dualwielding Scimitars (A Kilij is the Scimitars superior variant)
Katanas (Again, a Kilij is actually the superior blade according to most of my sword enthusiast friends)
Neutral Good Heroes
Chaotic Evil Nemesis
Aug 8th 2010 11:02PM Levelling as a rogue was always easy... hell, we EZ Mode roughly half of all the quests in the game with stealth and cheese the rest with cooldowns. PvEing as a Rogue used to be about as complex as a Retadin rotation save for the occasional raid that had no warrior for Sunders.
Now then, that said, PvPing as a Rogue is probably up there in complexity right now, especially RMP Arena style teams we find ourselves in. And recovering from not getting the initial opener in a RvR duel is one of the most difficult things to do in PvP.
Jul 31st 2010 5:27PM What I pick up from this is that the best job to have to support raiding and group PvP is a Hotel Janitor.
Jul 31st 2010 2:44PM So how would you say they've improved the enemy AI of SCII compared to SC:Brood War. I remember being able to effectively shut down a computer opponent's economy by rushing their base with a worker and then kiting the rest of their workers around in circles for a large period of time.
And the Campaign AI was usually pretty laughable and prone to being decimated by hero units most notably Duke, Zeratul and Infested Kerrigan (Although one time during a mission an overlord hovered over Zeratul and then he got broodlinged by a queen which sucked.)
Jul 31st 2010 1:16AM I do get the reference, but the actual response had already been used. Was I supposed to tell him he should have said "Why don't you just make ten more epic and make ten the top number and make that a little more epic?"?
Jul 30th 2010 10:54PM Zack Vee, if the dial only goes up to ten, it is obligatory to turn it up to eleven in the presence of Pure Awesome.
