Feb 5th 2009 9:31AM as a 20/51/0 Shaman, this will mean some reshuffling of the ENH tree to make sure I go all the way down with the 3 points freed up.
Still, these are the problems you *want* to have. Though looking at the tree, I guess the options are Anticipation, Toughness or Improved Shields. Not especially interesting
Feb 4th 2009 6:40PM Still not back on line with a computer with WoW, so I think I will miss most of this one. If I do get back on, probably not worth it to pursue
Feb 4th 2009 6:21PM I have to say I think that the legendaries should be really among the best, and that the availability should close once the level ceiling is raised (like the war bear). King Arthur did not just hang on to Excalibur until something better came along after all, and the person who got the epics at 60 or 70 should not eventually find them inferior to a green down the road some 10-20 levels later.
Consider the word: Legendary, the stuff of legends as to what a weapon it was and how worthy the person had to be to bear it.
So, make it grow with the character like an heirloom, make it so once the new expansion comes out, nobody can go and get it, and we're all good.
I won't feel robbed that I can't get the mace from Ragnaros if we make the legendary *mean* something
Feb 4th 2009 3:46PM Our own guild has always been careful of who we PuG with if we can help it, and only invite people who we evaluate and decide are a good match for us. Our only lemons were those invited by an officer who did not follow our procedures. Those we like grouping with as a PuG, we invite back.
For the rest, we have the Badapples addon.
Feb 4th 2009 3:38PM I really don't see that as a problem. Those two approved games had a notice on them saying that the online experience may change.
Seems just as easy to say this for WoW.
I read the accounts, and basically, it appears that the companies involved assumed they did not have to submit for a certificate because they were MMO.
They clearly assumed wrong.
Certainly there is nothing to indicate that WoW would be treated differently than EVE Online in this respect.
Feb 4th 2009 2:31PM Normally, when the US does something (witness the recent FCC thread and the thread on the Christian investing group) we hear about how "puritanical" the US is.
Now this. Puritanical America has "advisory" ratings, while most of the world has ratings controlled by law.
Amusing of course, but also tiresome to hear the same old.
The MMO producers screwed up for not checking the laws before doing buisness in a foreign country. Now they have to hustle to get legal.
Feb 4th 2009 1:50PM I was under the impression Australia had to have all games cleared with their censorship board, like their movies. I would imagine all Blizzard has to do is submit it for a certificate if they want to stay legal.
I find it doubtful the Classification Board would rate it higher than MA 15 (which I think is the highest rating a game can have in Australia... though an Australian member can correct me if I err)
Feb 3rd 2009 9:55PM I would only use Ghostwolf in cases where the +40% run speed was faster than the 3 seconds it took to get on my mount (I have 2 points in improved, so it is an instant cast). Normally it was of use in the "Blowing Hodir's Horn" quest trying to get to a giant first.
For Sholazar farming, I'd use my epic flyer unless it was a very short dash
Feb 2nd 2009 10:15PM If Blizz designs a instance around lag, that is essentially giving them an excuse not to fix the damned lag.
If it affects everyone, it is not a computer problem.
Not sure how much work it would take or how difficult it is, but they seem to need some sort of hardware investment...
Feb 2nd 2009 10:11AM I have several titles: Ambassador, Jenkins, Merrymaker, Explorer... but my favorite is "The Argent Champion." I use that one along with the Scourge event tabard
