Feb 25th 2011 5:32PM Will this feature cause trouble? I honestly believe so.
The new player will more than likely not even know this exists til someone tells them about it. But then again so many of the new players coming in wow already know someone here so more than likely they will be guilded together under "friends and family"
The casual player will either find a guild and be absolutely devoted to it or hop from guild to guild. Take for example one girl I know who has stayed in her guild who hasn't really raided since Serpentshrine caverns. She is dedicated to the guild though everyone in it has either quit playing, gone completely casual, or have alts in the guild for memory sake. And we all know the gentleman or lady who hops from guild to guild.
As a previous poster wrote often time the raiders knows where he is going, but sometimes players of all levels just have to leave. Whether its due to harrassement or they just don't get a long with their group anymore. Sometimes things just have to change. I know for me I was in one of my old servers top end raiding guilds but because of harrasement from some players in it for being gay and the general homophobia on that server I quit and went hunting for a new server/guild in hopes of finding somewhere that would atleast be tolerant of the fact of being gay. Which I was lucky enough to find The Spreading Taint (taint.rtgc.org) on Proudmoore. One of the best things I have ever done.
This new system won't promote finding a guild that is best suited for the individual. There are a number of guilds that offer specific things which individuals can relate on whether its an all girl guild, a guild of people from the southern united states, military folks, LGBT, or whatever. Believe it or not the old system of having to go hunt for something is probably the best way to go about it. You are going to endup with a lot more happy folks in the end.
Oct 16th 2010 5:28AM For the option of transferring to Taint.
I am a proud member of Taint and love my guild very very very much. I would like to say Taint is not this individual's only option. There are numerous LGBT guilds on multiple servers. Just Proudmoore is like the LGBT refuge with multiple LGBT guilds or guilds that are strongly welcoming. Its to the point here I would honestly say for active guilds that there are more guilds who are welcoming than who are not, and if someone even in a pug raid says something out of line watch out people don't let that kind of crap fly around here. But what I am trying to get at saying is Proudmoore offers every type of space from small to large guild, conservative to liberal, to everything in between for the LGBT community on Horde and Alliance side. We always welcome in new folks into Taint but Taint is not the only option it is just one out of many many many great options, but I believe personally one of the best places to begin if you come over to Proudmoore.
Nov 1st 2009 7:26AM Any thoughts of actually letting the portal get to high up and having a mage and a priest levitate/slow fall down? Or if levitate works being cast in there a shadow priest / palidan coming out together with levi already being on them...
Just running thoughts by and the general what not thats always floating in my head lol...
Nov 1st 2009 7:23AM Let us know if you find out whether wings can be used or not :) Just might speed things up a bit.
Oct 31st 2009 1:46PM Can the dragon be given Wings?
Jun 19th 2009 5:36AM @artifex A pro-gay resource you may like is a group of folks over at gaychristian.net . They also have quiete a few folks who play wow over there too. Pretty much they folks who pretty much identify themselves as gay and christians. There are basically two camps over there those that believe God does indeed bless same sex relationships and those that believe God does not but empowers those who live celibate.
Jun 12th 2009 3:21PM For those of you who do have an issue with there being glbt guilds existing in wow...
Remember there are...
There are guilds for people from specific colleges and their alumni.
There are guilds for those who are Christians.
There are guilds for those who are from French speaking countries.
There are guilds for people from the Philippines.
There are guilds for women only.
There are guilds for people's high school.
There are even guilds for people who are on the same mafia war team from myspace.
Guilds tend to be wide and varied for what they are centered around. Guilds aren't just centered around raids but there are many social guilds who are centered around different real life things. For there to be a type of guild around something from real life is not new to wow. In fact many of the oldest guilds in wow have and are about such things.
Also The Spreading Taint is not the only gay guild in wow, though I dearly love it as a member; in fact you can find a link on our guilds website to different glbt guilds and friendly guilds out there.

Jun 12th 2009 3:15PM Yes, the alliance are welcome. In fact the allinace guild Stonewall will be there. All wow players who support and love, or are gay or lesbian or bi or transgender or any where beneath that umbrella are welcome.
Come all and have some fun. Let me shake my poms poms at ya because I bring all the boys to the yard.
Jun 12th 2009 2:33PM Basically you get a whole bunch of types of one thing and it goes down the line.
For the women, they will be riding mechanohogs, being escorted on multipassanger bikes, riding their favorite ride or what not.
The bear float will have all the druid bears lined up or kind of in a square going down it I imagine and the ones riding bears on the back.
For us that are doing Pom-Pom priests. We will have our inner-focus going and using holy nova for sparkles and shines and whatever else we got to announce to those that see us the parade is on the way.
Basically think of a band line you see in a parade going down with different things that are similar.
Like my raiding group in taint has talked of all eatting deviate fishes and going in as a group of pirates/ninjas through the raid.
You can youtube where we did it last year to see some of it. The after party in Booty Bay is killer and plenty of folks dancing on the water.
Jun 12th 2009 11:30AM :) As a simple member of Taint. Some of the floats being talked about are...
A Bunny Float using playboy style theme with Noblegarden items.
A Spider Float for those who have arachnid hunter pets and minipets.
Priests with Pom-Pom float
A Blood Elf float
A Go-Go Girl float to honor the ladies
The Willy and the Chocolate (cake) Factory float
The Bears in the Woods (bear mounts and druid bears)
Among others :)
Thank you so much WoW Insider for covering us few thousand folks in taint :) whoot you guys are awesome!
And here is a quote about who Taint is from with in The Advocate
"What is the Spreading Taint, and how did you end up forming it?
The Spreading Taint is the name of our family of nine guilds in World of Warcraft. It's part of our umbrella organization, the Rough Trade Gaming Community [an LGBT gaming group]. I think it is important to find a group/guild that matches your personality. We attract a range of folks when it comes to ages, backgrounds, orientations, locations, and play styles/preferences, but the typical Tainter has a great sense of humor, is fairly laid-back, enthusiastic, sex-positive, respectful, generous, and goofy as hell. Also, more often than not, shockingly hot in person. And humble. ;) "
