How I made 3,000 gold by level 30 {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 9:29PM You should add, perhaps, that all of this counts double on roleplaying realms. Even before transmog, items that looked good were selling for extreme prices. For example, even in Wrath you would expect a pair of Templar Pauldrons to go for between 500 and 1000g, and various robes for similar prices, especially Aurora. As mentioned above, Overlord's (very shiny silver plate that looks part mail) is also a great seller. Of course, as a roleplayer it irked me that people were taking advantage of us like that, but I quickly realised that if people were going to pay that much for it, so be it.

And then I made a lot of money :D

Breakfast Topic: What pop figures deserve an Easter egg in WoW? {WoW}

Feb 12th 2011 8:23AM I too am missing the Dr. Who reference in WoW! But, I replied to this commenter to point out that the Gnome, hiding in the gardens in Stormwind Keep that works for SI:7, who you helped to spy on a meeting, is called Tyrion... ;)

There's also a potential Cersei reference, but it's pretty vague.

Breakfast Topic: How do you get rid of more money than you need? {WoW}

Jan 17th 2011 9:33AM I've always been terrible at making Gold. I either don't have the patience to get it in the first place, or the desire to risk it on the AH. I'm hoping to perhaps start selling Vial of the Sands for enough profit as to finally make over 30k, but it's a long way ahead yet.

If I was as rich as a friend of mine on my server (~2 million, and he still plays the AH), I'd probably try and keep a solid amount for a rainy day fund (say 1 million) and let the other million be used for giving nice things to friends for birthdays, or paying for my raid community to gear up their tanks and healers.

Elemental invasion phase three is active {WoW}

Nov 12th 2010 8:19PM You're welcome!

The "arresting cultists" quest is great fun, by the way. Especially on an RP server. Shame the outland quest doesn't lead anywhere.

Breakfast Topic: Haven't you seen that someplace before? {WoW}

Nov 2nd 2010 9:17AM That's the event for entering Frostwing Halls, nothing to do with Putricide's death. They spawn as you enter the Upper Spire then move through towards Sister Svalna, the Valkyr mini-boss, just before Valithria Dreamwalker.

But it was nice to see them again.

Cataclysm closed beta has begun {WoW}

Jun 30th 2010 6:45PM Check your account page. Someone I know mentioned their SC2 beta invite only appeared there and not via e-mail.

Breakfast Topic: 8,785,350 {WoW}

Jun 14th 2010 2:18PM Nah, wasn't aware. It all makes sense now!

Breakfast Topic: 8,785,350 {WoW}

Jun 14th 2010 8:57AM My largest heal cast is the same as KJP (1,568,812). Looking at various reports from World of Logs and such, 1,568,812 is the result of dying to Mark of the Fallen Champion in 25 man, which works out at 4.92% health gained. On 25 man Heroic, you'd heal him for around 2,196,500. The theory that 8,785,350 comes from Saurfang 10 can't be true, however. Although it is his exact health, Mark of the Fallen Champion only heals for 5%.

Or am I missing something?
