Apr 14th 2009 5:10PM Check and make sure you have your ports forwarded. I got the same error message, forwarded the appropriate ports, and then the light turned green and all was well. The help menu in the downloader should get you started.
Apr 1st 2009 1:03AM If you've maxed out the gear you can get from 10-man Naxx, then you're right where you're supposed to be for 10-man Ulduar. If you can't field the people for 25-man raids, then you don't need 25-man raid loot to keep going in your guild's progression.
It seems like a lot of people are missing the whole separate progression. Now personally, I couldn't really care less what the ilvls are like between the two, but if they tune things properly (which they admit they haven't done, and have claimed they will fix for Ulduar) then why all the worry about being able to pug Ulduar? You have a guild that raids in 10-mans, you have all the 10-man gear from this tier, that means you're ready to step into the next 10-man raid.
If you PvP, then it may matter. If they don't have appropriate arena rewards, you may have to run Uld-25.
Nov 28th 2008 7:57PM I think the most annoying mobs are the dreadsabers in Sholazar Basin, because they attack and kill other mobs, that you need for a quest. I saw at least 6 of them die while I was trying to get in range to tag them first.
Nov 11th 2008 1:04PM A winner is me!
Nov 10th 2008 1:38PM Would be awesome to win this!
Sep 10th 2008 4:38AM It seems to me that Metamorphosis is begging for a "new" mechanic. Instead of a buff with a cooldown, or a stance/form without one, make it a form with something like Forbearance but make the debuff last longer the longer you stay in demon form. Every minute that you spend in the form gives you another stack on the debuff, which increases the length of time before you can use it again. I'm thinking every minute in form is 5 minutes out, but that's just numbers. Put an upper limit on it where it kicks you out of the form, OR make it so if you don't click it off in time you turn evil for 30 seconds (like if you'd been mind controlled) and then die. You could also limit it by consuming a soulshard every so often, if you don't allow a way to get them back while you're in demon form
Also, it seems like the talent is unfocused, and people don't like losing their pets. This has already been suggested, but if you combine these two problems, they can go away. Give them spells/abilities to do DPS with spells or melee, give them some CC and some mitigation, and then give massive buffs to one of the categories based on what you had out when you used the form.
Sep 7th 2008 10:22PM I know a lot of people didn't have a problem with the idea of first-to-80 titles. The big argument was that the titles didn't really seem to match the acheivement. There's a lot of lore behind being an Archmage, etc. From the comments in the thread, as an example of what these titles should be for...
Level 80 reached
3000 Quests completed
30 Exalted Reputations Earned
Exalted status earned with all 5 home cities
Become a Grand Master in 2 Professions as well as in all 3 secondary professions
Become a world explorer, explore the whole world
Earn XX,000 honor kills
Burning Crusader, do all the Outland quest achievements
Champion of Northrend, complete all Northrend quest achievements
Defeat at least up to raid boss X in Wrath of the Lich King
Something like this granting a title would be completely awesome.
