Apr 1st 2009 10:16AM I for one have stopped raiding, and I've even thought about letting my account run dry and finally giving WoW up till the next expansion... Not even sure if I'll even go to Uldar to be honest. Raiding used to always be my favorite part of the game (if nothing else, it was always more fun than the god awful -forecefed- arenas) but it just gets tiresome getting sub-par gear for actually doing the HARDER content.
But heaven forbid, I'm just bitching because I can't get my hands on the 'superior content', even though I have friends in RL that do 25s bosses blindfolded (playing with just the sound of the game as their guide) because its the only was it feels like even the slightest challenge... That in my opinion says something about the 25s.
Mar 21st 2009 9:53PM Yeah, I only play a Mage, its my one and only toon. I for one am pissed that Blizzard is now force feeding me Spirit.
Spirit was always a nice way to split gear between DPS and Healers; we had our gear, and they had theirs. And nothing is gunna change with all this, we'll have OUR caster gear, and they'll have THEIR spirit gear... cuz guess what, they still don't want ours.
Blizzard thinks somehow this is gunna make us love spirit? Raids are never gunna give a MAGE spirit gear over the HEALER. I see this change as a straight up nerf since I'll never get to roll (unless the healers all have it) on ANY of this stupid spirit.
WE DON'T WANT YOUR SPIRIT!!!!
Or at least I don't, maybe others feel differently.
Mar 12th 2009 4:05PM And another idea I had while going over the comments...
4000+ - Bronze Dragon around your portrait
5000+ - Silver Dragon around your portrait
6000+ - Gold Dragon around your portrait
(These numbers would obviously go up over time as the number of Achievement's went up.)
Each could come with its own mount, title, pet, tabard, what-have-you.
Mar 12th 2009 3:58PM I've actually heard multiple ways this could potentially be implemented.
I for one was always hoping for a method of character customization with the 'spending' of Achievement Points. Firstly, they'd never be spent, only be allocated towards something, this could then of course be dropped and those points could then be used for something else as the player saw fit.
Items would include things like different spell animations, cosmetic auras, titles, toys, etc...
Though another cool concept I heard once was tying Achievement Points directly into the 'player housing' system. As you gain points they could be used to buy bigger homes, decor, holiday decor, portals in the back, mailbox, storage, etc...
The coolest one however I've heard was kind of a way to multi-class. This wouldn't include like mages wearing plate or anything, but merely a way for classes to pick up useful spells and the like from other classes. So I could maybe learn how to soul stone our healer, or resurrect while out of combat, move faster while in ghost form, or gain a form of crusader aura, slow fall, levitate, maybe the Human's 10% rep bonus, etc... This would obviously have to be done very carefully so as to not break the game, however it could be fun.
But my most favorite of these would have to be a combination of them all... maybe provide two vendors, one will let you permanently spend all your points on way cool stuff (maybe letting you unlearn them but not getting the points back till 30 days after) and another vendor that lets you allocate your full points (even if they're all spent at the permanent vendor), for the fun cosmetic stuffs.
Either way though, I want a way to spend my 4500 Achievement points on something cool. : )
Nov 22nd 2008 4:05PM Does anyone know if its possible to switch your faction on these guy's later?
Nov 12th 2008 8:08AM Taking one look at the swarm around said vendors this evening I figure that if Blizzard really goes with banning players, Northrend will be a bit less populated than Azshara on a busy day...
So what the hey, free gear for my alts once they hit 70 to help ease the trek to 80. And if I do get banned... well, I'll finally have some motivation to do something other than WoW. >.
Nov 12th 2008 7:39AM /roll
I want one...
Nov 12th 2008 1:50AM If they banned players over this my server would loose almost every level 70... I doubt Blizzard wants to do that right before a major expansion.
Nov 9th 2008 3:28PM Brrrrrrraaaaaains...
Oct 22nd 2008 3:43PM Ummm... Vent?
Depending on your play style I could honestly see this as being viable... Granted I'd still want a wireless keyboard and mouse next to me while I play on the big screen... but the HD big screen, surround sound, and comfy recliner alone almost make me wanna convert.
