Gold Capped: Warcraft needs a new gold sink, and it needs it yesterday {WoW}

Sep 20th 2011 3:53AM I don't get the "poor new players can't even afford glyphs" argument. Any gathering profession can make the gold necessary to pay most glyphs in a matter of minutes at any level. And any new character is free to get into the glyph market himself; those expensive glyphs aren't all high level by any means, you can get your firs 100+g sales with the very first batch of glyphs you make.

Gold Capped: How to price Cataclysm glyphs {WoW}

May 20th 2011 7:31PM Why is a level 25 toon supposed to need any glyphs in the first place?

There's very few glyphs that make a serious difference before level cap (i.e. misdirect for hunters, etc.), the content is faceroll enough as it is. If you really can't stand having that glyph, chances are you're on an alt and could afford the 100g no problem.

May 20th 2011 7:25PM The glyph market is too much of a hassle for me to compete in seriously. I buy herbs low whenever I can get them, turn them into ink, bank them and every once in a while, I deplete my stock by crafting every glyph that sells for >200g at that moment in time. Then I just take 3 minutes per day to list them all on the auction house while I spend the majority of my money-making time crafting Darkmoon Cards or on another character. By the time they're mostly all sold, I'd have enough ink stockpiled to craft another batch.

Sure I get undercut a lot because I don't babysit my auctions, and some glyphs' prices will have plummeted quite considerably by the time I sell them, but I usually sell 3-4 glyphs per day this way for an average of about 500g per day. Not serious money by any stretch of the imagination, but a nice bonus for the small time I invest in it.

Why do I have to accept the Terms of Use/EULA/etc. every time the game is patched?

Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite piece of music in WoW? {WoW}

Feb 16th 2011 11:12AM Only two themes that haven't been mentioned yet (but should have been):

Temple of the Moon:

such a shame that Darnassus is so out of the way these days.

Arathi Highlands:

this amazing theme is pretty wasted on that zone, but it does get used in other places (Twilight Highlands for one, I think).

Gold Capped: Making ridiculous sums of money on the auction house {WoW}

Feb 14th 2010 5:15PM I'm kind of a mixed bag when it comes to saving up money. I have no trouble at all making enough to buy the bare essentials (i.e. I'm capable of getting epic flight + mount + cold weather flying and Dual Spec on all the characters I level by the time they reach 70ish, even if I'm starting on a new server, and I can afford consumables/gems/enchants at any given time), but I'm bad at accumulating the kind of money necessary for pimping out my 80s with expensive mounts and gear. Usually, I'm hovering around 6-7k cash.
