i've little to be positive about regarding my warlock this year, or in the slated changes for cataclysm.

HOWEVER, my favorite warlock related change this year?

Blood Pact: Warlock tips for Icecrown Citadel, part 1 {WoW}

yeah, that's kind of what i'm thinking as well; it may be a wash. in ideal conditions, 1 gcd spent applying the corruption on the boss before switching away is just 1gcd longer spent with the add up before i can get back to the boss, right?

what has me pondering is that situations are rarely ideal. thinking aloud: if something occurs during killing the add that requires me to do anything other than max-stand-still-rotation (as it tends to), i believe the worth of having thrown that corr up to increase. my logic is that if i end up wasting a gcd or more during that timespan anyway having to kite or tabtarget to an enraged add, the corruption's damage is still running meanwhile.

i'm actually theoretically more concerned with the worth on lady d. on saurfang i'm comfortable starting my dps on the add a gcd late anyway for the kiting/aggro let-the-hunter-lead-it-away-a-little-first reasons i talked about.

some extra optional fine-tunings i've found in a couple runs:

lady gaga & saurfang-the-doesn't-cleave-on-crit: both involve a fair amount of target switching, which impacted my rotation slightly. particularly in that, just before switching targets away from the boss i'll throw up a corruption, usually not worth the gcd for my destro spec, just to leave a little extra ticking damage on the boss while killing adds. (are any of the math-inclined here willing to confirm this is worthwhile?) also consider that the nature of our aggro can be used to help increase kiting time on adds: we frequently would position a hunter fairly opposite me so that the initial aggro of the hunter got the add running a couple feet away before the conflag-cbolt hits and turns him around towards me. this provided enough time to burn down one with little to no cc while cc could lock the other add long enough to deal with the first. circle-port definetly helps not get hit while kiting, or to get back in position after having to go further than you want to kill an add someone dragged to the opposite side of the room. couldn't agree more with letting the first person w/ the mark die immediately in 10--thus preventing getting the 2nd mark that much faster: this was the realization that got him down in a couple groups for me.

gunship fight: axe throwers!! your healers will love you if you use your range from your ship to kill/aggro the closest axethrowers on the other. especially at the start of the fight or when the away team isn't away & the home-side adds are well-under-control. There's plenty of time to cull that herd and take care of your own ship at the same time.

The Light and How to Swing It: The low level tank part 1 {WoW}

Dec 5th 2009 8:42PM cool story bro:

i haven't been on my twink 29 rogue much in past months, but i eventually got on and turned off exp to find a dearth of bgs to queue. as i'm sitting around in queue anyway to see just how bad, i'm bored enough to read tradechat and respond to a group lf a tank to sfk. now i'd already solod that and dm while gearing with liberal use of cc n running away at certain times, but i'm curious if i can keep mobs off other players, and of course if they're noob enough to break cc, etc,etc. so i respond, hes like 'i gotta ask group', i join, their healer quits on the spot. we go anyway with 4, a dps heals, and i basically tank by killing, doing 75% tot dmg of group, occasionally running to smack something once someone else made mad, but a complete breeze run through.

moral of the story, if a bored twink offers, rare as that is, it prolly doesn't matter what class. probably very true of anything slightly overleveled for the instance too; i bet a priest could tank it at 35 or less.

never did get in that bg after turning off exp tho =(

normally i consider cuties only to be insufferably egotistical and a scourge on pleasant conversation, but i've actually found a circumstance where one of them lays out their knowledge to help and inform instead of epeen-wag.
