No PvE servers are under populated {WoW}

Jan 9th 2009 12:10PM Randy,

You are an idiot. I specifically said there were downsides to any idea. I never said this was an end all to the problems. They were just ideas that I had. Calling someone's idea the dumbest you've ever heard just proves you don't get out much, but I guess if its outside of a video game then you probably dont pay attention to it anyway.

Anything that is thought of that would lead to a true fix for overpopulation will upset someone, there is no way around it. Some people will choose to accept the change while others will go onto a message board and disparage other people's opinions on the matter in order to make themselves feel better.

Jan 9th 2009 11:36AM Maybe shutting servers off for new account creations would help limit over population. It is counterproductive to allow transfers to limit the population while still allowing new account creation. I say account creation because obviously, a new toon on an existing account doesnt hurt population. Even if they shut them off from new accounts for a few months(like November thru January) at a time would help control the population. I know this brings up a new set up 'problems' for friends just coming into the game and wanting to play on the same server as a friend but no decision is perfect and I think keeping the existing customers happy is more important to longevity of the game than making the new customers happy.

Another thought....maybe have starter servers for new players. If after a month or 2 of playing, if the customer is still active, they get a free transfer to whatever server they want to go to.

Dec 15th 2008 3:14PM One option not mentioned yet is to use the gold aquired from the transaction to help someone else or to just put the money back into the 'economy' because the gold wasnt earned.

Something somewhat similar happened to me. I was at a gentlemen's club for a cousin's bachelor party. After a few hours enjoying the festivities, I happened to look down and find a $20 bill. Now I could either keep it even though I didnt earn it or turn in the money. Well, since I knew the lap dances were $20, I assumed one of the ladies dropped the money. Since I had no way of knowing who it was, I decided to turn the money into a very attractive blonde who decided to reward me for my honesty and integrity. I guess my point is, if WoW was more like a strip club, we would all be broke...but happy.

Dec 8th 2008 12:28PM What I meant by that, and I can see how I didnt convey it properly, is if I dont get the cake, then I cant get the title. The Northrend recipes will come for me, eventually, and I am sure the cake will to its just taking its sweet ass time.

Dec 8th 2008 11:13AM I have done the Dalaran cooking quest every day since Wrath went live and the Shattrath cooking quest at least 100 times with no drop of the cake recipe. I hope they up the drop rate or do add it for purchase from the vendor. That darn cake is keeping me from the Cook title.
