May 1st 2011 5:04PM Really sad to see this site go. Whilst it might have been one of the 'minor' sites on the AOL network, it has become one of my most visited sites. It also became my go-to place for PC gaming news.
Also, keeping the community notified of daily updates on the sales provided on the digital distribution networks was worth the visit alone!
Thanks for all the great work in the past three years!
Dec 8th 2010 3:58PM Count me in!
Dec 6th 2010 5:20PM Oooh! Sounds like fun...
Aug 13th 2010 4:39AM The first embedded video appears to be for Worms Reloaded not for CoH:Going Rogue...
May 3rd 2010 9:02AM Whilst this seems a lot fairer compared to the recent DRM insanity brought about by Ubisoft (and others), the 5-machine activation limit still irks me a lot. Still the promise of DRM removal once the game starts moving to a budget release is a good thing!
Mar 8th 2010 7:07PM For what it's worth, on the UK Steam store it works out cheaper to buy the Deus Ex games individually than in the bundle (£2.99 each vs. £7.59 for the bundle)... I can't speak for the US Steam store, nor whether Valve will correct this oversight (the Hitman bundle is cheaper than buying each game separately), but it's a heads up for any UK readers out there...
Feb 8th 2010 5:23PM So if I have my dates right (or at least guesstimates of dates) that makes Bioware's release schedule:
March 2010: Dragon Age: Origins - Awakenings
Q1 2011: Star Wars: The Old Republic (supposedly)
Q1 2011: Dragon Age 2
Q4 2011/Q1 2012: Mass Effect 3 (rumour only)
That's some game line-up that they've got going there... Hope that they can also fit in all the DLC they have been promising too.
Feb 7th 2010 2:39PM Colour me intrigued... Count me in!
Feb 1st 2010 8:24AM It's strange but I am finding myself kinda missing the Mako in ME2 (probably because I find the scanning mechanic a little... irritating at times, especially for a completionist like me ;-) ).
But back to the question in hand, for me I like to take screenshots when I see something that makes me go "Wow!". So for example I took a bunch of screenshots the first time I entered Forochel in LotRO and saw the night-lights in the sky there - very cool moment for me.
Incidentally, for story heavy games (or ones with definite milestones), I would love an automatic screenshot system similar to that in Dragon Age: Origins where the game would take the screenshot for you when, for example, you beat a raid boss for the first time, or when you complete a long and complex quest line.
Jan 31st 2010 1:13PM Good to know that the DLC is finally released, but I won't be getting it for a while at least (well not until I've completed Mass Effect 2 at least once). Makes you wonder how long the expansion set will be delayed for though...
