Aug 25th 2010 3:29PM Ah yes, reminds me when I was playing my first toon (human warrior) in Elwyn Forest.
Some of the best memories but yet some of the most horrifying events of my time playing WoW.
Aug 5th 2010 4:02PM I ment only for leveling if your trying to tank at end game and not specced...lol good luck
Aug 5th 2010 2:07PM I like the idea of using spirits instead of totems, but I think shouldn't happen for 2 reasons. 1. I think it would ruin the theme of shamans 2. It would make my shaman's name meaningless lol (Iwintotem).
Also as a tip, don't use totems for quick aoe trash unless needed or your the type of guy that likes to get as much damage he possibly can on quick trash pull even if it gets him or the group killed (I know someone like that, wasn't too fun grouping with him =/) but unless your fight is going to last more then a few seconds, like a boss or a trash pull with a mob that has a lot of health.
I think that is more so when leveling since it eats your mana up to be dropping them all the time and will force you to take a chug of the spring water after every swing, which is never fun =/.
Aug 5th 2010 1:36PM @ anyone saying you have to spec into tank while leveling to tank.
I don't think it is the spec, it is the gear and the skill of the player. I've seen tanks in full BoAs and specced but failed to hold threat.
I think the sword and shield method works if the person is currently is in a melee spec, because then they have probably more health and they will gain more threat for their hits.
I leveled my warrior as arms all the way up to 70ish and tanked just fine with just a sword and shield, only time I lost aggro was when I had a trigger happy dps or two that would all attack a different target.
A caster spec could do it but they will need a whole other set of gear to do it that gives them the health and the strength/agility to do it, and they will really need to know what they are doing. So since this person is leveling and probably queing for everything possible even if they can't preform that role they should just stick to healing because they have the mana/sp from their caster gear, and probably don't know how to tank.
That also reminds me a sorry my friend told me about a boomkin. He joins a dungeon group and he ask who is the tank (this was before the new system) and the boomkin says he is, my friend ask how, and the chicken responds by saying he has the same armor multiplier in boomkin form as a bear has. Obviously that group didn't last long lol.
Jul 7th 2010 12:08PM Interesting video, was nice to see the landscape of WoW without flying by it and ignoring the beautiful sights.
This video has brought up a question that I don't think Blizzard has mentioned.
Will they be bringing back weather in Cataclysm? I don't mean the once in a blue moon snow in Storm Peaks but actual common weather, which makes this static world a lil less static and more exciting.
Jan 3rd 2010 9:02PM I'm a tank, and I'm the one that likes to pull fast. I do look to see if my healer can handle it first and I always wait for the group to be in and buffed before pulling. It isn't only the healer and dps that gets bored you know. Tanking is fun but sometimes I just want to quickly run through and an instance or two for badges to buy a gem or BOA.
Jan 2nd 2010 7:49PM Nice!
