Aug 25th 2011 8:52PM With the core hound packs on the way to Magmadar - at 85, you can just waltz right past them without proximity aggro. And as long as you take Magmadar at the very back of the room, his fears are unlikely to send you all the way into one of the packs either.
In fact, the only trash you can't just walk past are the Core Hound patrols - they've got a really large aggro radius for some reason. Not that killing them is hard, but it's handy to know ahead of time what trash you'll be forced to fight.
Assuming you don't aggro the core hounds in front of Garr, you can fight him at the back of his alcove without having to clear out nearby mobs either. Just make sure your back is to the wall to avoid his minion's knockback when he dies!
Geddon is annoying with multiple living bombs - it's not the explosion that gets you, but the repeated fall damage. Parachute cloaks, rocket boots, disengage etc all help avoid the impact damage.
Shazzrah - again, another boss you can ignore nearby mobs and just kill him where he stands.
Sulfuron is the only boss you want to bother clearing out the rock elemental and corehound patrols before fighting, as it's the one fight you're guaranteed to get adds in otherwise.
All in all, a full clear of all the bosses on my hunter only takes about half an hour to complete - the place is a cakewalk, really.
Jan 19th 2011 11:37AM I just tried out a tunnelling service myself (also from Australia, incidentally), and it's not as bad as you may fear.
When first logging on under the new connection, I received a message telling me that my account was temporarily locked (not suspended!), and it pointed me to manually reset my password on battle.net. On doing so, the email address I use solely for my WoW account got sent a link to proceed with the password reset, answered a secret question, and basically confirmed that it was actually me trying to log into my account from a different location. After that, I could continue to log in without any further problem, other than I keep forgetting I'd changed my password the first time I type it in. :)
Jan 19th 2011 11:24AM For some reason, I only seem to be able to make that jump on my fossilised raptor mount, and even then, only after half a dozen attempts. Probably more a psychological thing as to when I hit space to jump than anything...
Still, it's amusing when I manage to jump up there, and see two or three people trying to get to it from the wrong side whilst I just walk up to it without any competition.
Jan 17th 2011 4:08PM This. Very much this.
There's plenty of reasons why a person mightn't be able to speak on vent - no mic, broken mic, poor quality mic, too much sound in the background, can't speak due to people sleeping in the next room.
Whatever the reason or excuse, even if it's not wanting to be caught out as actually being a guy/girl, or simply chronic shyness - there's zero reason why you can't listen in whilst not having to say a word. At the very least, it saves time with the raid leader having to retype out everything just for one person.
As for communicating back - goodness knows there's enough verbose mods out there that'll automatically let the raid know that you've been cursed/spiked/chased or whatever before you even realise that it's happened - and half the time it's someone else's mod anyhow. Failing that, it's not that hard to whip up a quick macro for a specific circumstance just in case.
Sure, they may not be perfect solutions, but at least you're making the effort to work around the problem for the benefit of the raid rather than looking like you're just there to get carried by the rest of the guild...
Dec 31st 2010 5:39PM I'm interested in finding out what this so called archaeology daily quest is supposed to be - there was a note in one of the patch or hotfix lists that mentioned an archaeology quest was now properly marked as a daily, but for my life, I have not been able to work out what it was referring to...
Oct 10th 2010 2:47PM Rather than logging in with my account from last year (not that I can remember what it was), I just created a new account from scratch, which seems to be the only way to purchase the virtual ticket.
Just log out and hit the 'order now' button and you should be good.
Oct 10th 2010 2:44PM Bah, now it's my turn to mis-reply to another post @.x

Oct 10th 2010 1:46PM The first 48 hour sale is for actual blizzcon ticket holders only - us virtual ticket holders get our own separate sale in a couple days time, so worry not (hopefully)!
"A second 48-hour sale for BlizzCon Virtual Ticket purchasers will be taking place beginning October 13—place your order by October 10 to participate."
Jun 19th 2010 11:24PM At first, I was rather intrigued by the pattern in the centre - the first thought in my mind was 'boy, that looks like it was styled like a Naaru!'
Then I realised it was just a little octagonal pattern that got stretched out due to the bending of light or whatnot through the glass. ;(
