Mar 25th 2009 2:38PM honestly... death knights.
that may sound troll-ish, and i love playing on my death knight, but i think they should have stuck to their original plan as i understood it when the original game was in development and that is to have a hero class for every standard class that a player "graduated" to at level 60 or 70 or whatever as opposed to having a single hero class that's purposely a little op'd that then they have to spend months and months trying to balance at the pvp level, because the original assessment that dk's were op'd until 80 and then everything evens out at that point just aren't true. i'm one of those players that adores pvp and arenas and i find it annoying that you HAVE to have a dk on your arena team to be competitive.
Feb 18th 2009 11:03AM as much as i hate to admit it, several years ago, i was desperate for work and took a job working customer emails for a site that sold gold and leveled characters. it was a shitty job-- i only worked there for a few weeks before i found something better, but as far as the "blizz is making money off botters" argument, you can't really dispute that.
i remember in the office, there was an entire room-- AN ENTIRE ROOM-- filled with shelves that was packed with floor to ceiling with unopened, brand new copies of WoW for whenever one of their gold farming or botting accounts got banned, they would just crack open a box, reinstall with a new key.
Feb 5th 2009 4:11PM My impression is that it's somehow latency based, but I've also had vanish issues, for some reason only in Northrend, where vanish or stealth only lasts for a second or two, even with no mobs or pesky campfires for 100 miles.
Jan 15th 2009 9:14AM if i find a wallet with $177k in cash, i keep it. if your bank accidentally gives you $177k electronically, they're going to find their mistake and they're going to come after you, so report it as soon as you can. apples and oranges.
Dec 30th 2008 8:46AM i've been taking it easy... my main is only 75, almost 76 and i rolled a dk right off the bat but didn't do anything with it until the last couple days when I've been leveling the dk when i want a change from rogue-ing.
it's a fun change to be able to just walk into mordor and eff stuff up.
Dec 17th 2008 2:38PM on my rogue, i love death grip in world pvp... if you're fighting something and most other classes start ganking you, it takes you a few seconds to realize you're being ganked, by which time it's usually too late. with death grip, i instantly know the dk is out to get a piece and i can vanish as soon as i land and get the fight started my way.
Dec 15th 2008 4:35PM I love subtlety. I can use shadowstep to get behind any mob in the blink of an eye (with an extra 20% crit chance on that first hit) and dance of shadows is great for throwing in big blasts of damage from ambush and garotte etc.
Dec 15th 2008 4:33PM Rogues have lost some of the dps limelight recently, but if as a rogue, you think your only job is to stand behind the main target and stab, you're going to only be barely useful.
Honestly, I don't even worry about where I stand on the DPS meter anymore on my rogue-- mages, locks, dks and hunters will always eek you out with AOE damage. But a good rogue has to be focused on the group as a whole.
Sapping: Obvious, but sapping is still a good method of cc when you need it.
Peeling: On my rogue, I see one of my jobs in a group as keeping the mobs away from the casters. As soon as you see a mob break off of the tank, stop what you're doing, pop preparation and cheap shot the hell out of that mob.
Off-tanking: I pride myself on being a good off-tank, especially against caster mobs. In Nax, I can solo most of the casters and healers so that they're not healing the main target or pelting the tank.
Oh and of course, picking lock boxes. :)
Dec 12th 2008 10:45AM I still have my first character, frozen in time at level 60. I tried taking him out to Outlands, thinking I would level my resto druid some, but it felt wrong somehow. At that point, I already had a mage that was almost 70 and I just prefer keeping my druid 60 and young and beautiful forever, with the old PvP titles and the old mount and bags of old gear and quest items, so I can always go back and say "Yeah, I remember what a pain it was to run BRS so many times for that shoulder piece or MC etc"
Dec 12th 2008 10:39AM Yeah, that's the thing I miss the most. I understand why they shortened AV, but now it's just silly... it takes 10-15 minutes and there's no real ending... you're fighting and it's done.
I miss fighting fiercely in AV for hours at a time, go to bed and sleep 8 hours, wake up and pick up in the same epic AV and fight another few hours until it's done. There really needs to be some equivalent in the current game for those people who just love that sort of thing.
And I love... god what was his name... that giant troll that lived in the middle graveyard... killing him as he was killing both you and your allies and your enemies indiscriminately was a blast.
