A look back at a cataclysmic year for World of Warcraft {Massively}

If you ask me it wasn't so much the gear scaling as it was how stuff was distributed. Most MMOs now offer a grab bag to all raid participants after a boss kill so there's no loot drama. I always thought even back in vanilla that splitting 3-4 pieces of loot between 40-25 people was...odd.

I hope you do too, it's a nice feeling to make connections on one or two mmos. Being able to share close friendships and even meeting up on conventions is a nice way to make a guild of friends become a family of sorts.

Nov 23rd 2011 5:22PM I think it's more in line with the once young people that EQ and WoW brought into the genre are growing up into young adults with careers, families, and other responsibilities. Just don't have the time anymore to play as much or dedicate as much time into the game anymore. I totally get that, but my feeling on raiding is personally I don't wanna do it anymore, at least with 10+ people raids.

Nov 23rd 2011 2:09PM I think it will, it has enough of a following and while it may lose some players I think the game has a stable enough base. And keep in mind that not everyone is into scifi, if you ask me fantasy is much easier to get into than scifi is in terms of mainstream appeal.

Nov 23rd 2011 2:04PM Looking back at the 6 years my life I spent playing on WoW I can't really pin point anything else besides accomplishing my goals and my issue with loot distribution in the game as the reason I left, well that and plain ol done with the game. Overall I had a pretty fun time hanging out with friends there.

To beat a dead horse, ya of course the game is showing its age. While the game is on a decline, Blizzard will still rake in money if not on WoW then it'll be on D3 and many of their other polished titles.

Nov 23rd 2011 10:49AM Well friend gave me beta access now so I'll see for myself if the game is right for me. It may be formulaic but my friends are all playing it so I have to at least give it a try.

Mythos returns as Mythos Global, closed beta starting December 1st {Massively}

Nov 22nd 2011 12:32PM If they plan to relaunch this game yet again then they need to address why it failed. Repeating the same song and dance a third time and not adapting because the company thinks we the players don't know what we're talking about, then they'll be in for a rude awakening.

The Daily Grind: Have you ever attended an in-game wedding? {Massively}

Nov 22nd 2011 12:19PM No I have not, I would assume it's more common-place in rp servers which I don't play on. :)
