Sep 21st 2008 6:31PM Speaking as a player whose forum account was banned for using the "report post" feature to cite the use of "gay" as a general pejorative as hate speech, yes, I believe Blizzard does encourage - or at the very least permit - unhealthy stereotyping, so far as their legal team will allow.
How we interact with others in game play does color how we treat others in real life. WoW is a game, intended for fun. In that environment, making it okay to harrass others for differences not of their choosing reinforces bigotted views in society.
