No vanilla WoW realms. Really. {WoW}

Mar 13th 2009 12:21PM No need to do such a huge redesign as to bring Vanila back but XP lock as an option for 60 and 70 levels would be great implementation for those who would like to experience old raids in a serious way.

Ask WoW Insider: The rate of release {WoW}

Sep 23rd 2008 8:45AM It wouldn't be too slow if most of players didn't rush as much to 70, or soon 80. In case of every expansion progression seems to be divided into content/scenario/zones campaign and completely different world that awaits at 70 or 80. If borders between those two worlds were smoother, IMO many players would want to stop, enjoy, take a deep breath. People rush to 70 or 80 not only for raiding but for example also due to lack of decent PvP possibilities before max level. So I think that adding new expansion looks slow due to the fact the content/scenario/zones campaign is not tasted in a way it could be tasted. For example if there were battlegrounds for 60-65, 70-75 I think many would stop in Terokkar, enjoy their stay there and not treat it as a place which should be completed asap.
