Aug 11th 2009 8:55PM Yeah, sorry to burst people's bubbles, but this was indeed a joke. From GC:
"I put in the Yogg achievement with what I hoped was a ridiculous stand-in number. Clearly it wasn't ridiculous enough because players were variously excited or worried that it was a real number.
"Then in an example on how we don't want raids to rotate in tanks, I wanted to pick what I hoped was a ridiculous number so that players wouldn't try and and deduce from my answer how many bosses Icecrown has.
"Sadly, my sarcasm doesn't translate well to the forums. :)"
Aug 6th 2009 1:27PM I love the fact that it's the 1000, meaning we could see more iterations of the gun at some later point.
It really would be fun if it could turn paladins into cockroaches as a side effect tho (out-of-combat, of course). Maybe that's something for the BRK-2000?
Aug 6th 2009 1:02PM "A few people have already speculated that they're testing the waters for another WoW expansion, but I doubt any expansion is that far along in the process yet"
Mike, come on -- of course the next expansion is far enough along that this type of information is going to matter. What if they decide that they want all new high-quality textures and shadings for the next expansion? Now's a great time to see if the user base could handle a whole zone of better models and such, because the art department and world designers would need to have this information from the very beginning, lest they scrap months of work to change things later.
Also, as reported here on your own site, SC2 was pushed to next year. Unless something's changed in the past two days. I'd buy your theory about this data applying to another Blizzard game if you meant the next-gen MMO they're developing, but I really doubt it's for SC2 -- they're too far into that game for this type of data to be useful, as they'd scrap a lot of development effort if they needed to change something.
Apr 16th 2009 11:20PM Wow... it's been a REALLY long time since I've heard a Rocky Horror reference. I'm not sure if that makes me happy or sad.
And to those saying "it's from Ronin Warriors", RHPS was around long before RW, and the "you tiny fools" at the end confirms the intended reference.
Apr 14th 2009 3:00PM 99% of addons listed in WoWMatrix were added based on user requests, not authors. And WM was very notorious for not honoring (or even answering) authors' requests to remove addons from WM.
In other words, WoWMatrix cares nothing for the addon developers, only the end-users and their own advertisers.
Apr 13th 2009 11:15PM Sad that Blizz is pushing this content live so quickly. This still could use another week of testing.
On the bright side, it shouldn't be quite as bad as the 3.0.x disasters. Then again, that's not a high mark to hit either.
Apr 13th 2009 11:12PM That's been available for background downloading for weeks now.
Mar 2nd 2009 11:13PM In regards to your first question, you don't need to keep them. But I recommend backing them up somewhere, just in case you ever need to reinstall WoW. Saves a bunch of time and bandwidth, since many of those files take forever to download now.
Mar 2nd 2009 11:10PM You don't need to go thru the portals to kill the world dragons, they spawn in front of the portals. If the dragon wasn't there, then it was killed already and hadn't respawned yet.
