The Daily Grind: How many MMOs do you play at one time? {Massively}

Aug 18th 2009 2:55PM I get hung up on MMO's and usually play one obessively to the point of burn out. I've never been subscribed to more than two different MMO's at once although I usually have multiple accounts with my current fix.

I purposely burned out on WoW recently and re-subbed to FFXI to pass the time so I can start Aion next month without nagging thoughts about WoW. 4 years is a long time to play anything so I'm welcoming the changes.

Breakfast Topic: Too much politics in your WoW? {WoW}

Nov 4th 2008 8:21AM I don't mind the politcal talk as much as the as the other trend in trade. I don't know if it has hit most/all server yet but the "anal [insert 'hilarious skill link' here]" that seems to happen once a day and go on for hours is far more annoying and spammy than the politcal talk. Yes, yes, I know. /leave 2 I guess I'm one of those antiquated people that, you know, uses /trade

Look! Up in the sky! It's Shaman changes! {WoW}

Oct 7th 2008 2:42PM So they are basically saying that, "Hey elemental shamans, here are your buffs in the form of not getting nerfed...yet! Curse of Elements will solve all your problems, so get a pocket warlock."

Sorry, I've heard that CoE line too many times. But in all honestly, I think all will be well in the end. Our elemental DPS was fairly competative in sunwell, it was not the top, but it was competative. It is beta and PTR changes are fluid. All the vitriol and the bitching and moaning gets contaigious when you read it for too long.

What's the point of resist gear? {WoW}

Oct 6th 2008 6:54PM Resist fights fights are fine, the grinding for gear isn't particularly bad most of the time. I had several other thoughts of the subject that didn't want to type themselves out correctly but they all came down to needing more space to store crap.

Even with all bank slots purchased and filled with 20 slot bags and four 22 slotters on my person I'm still at capacity most of the time. I try not to excessively hoarde too much junk, but it isn't always easy being a hybrid, having profession mats, holiday items, resist gear, and various marks and tokens. Of course I don't need to have all those things but isn't that the nature of this game after you reach level cap? Sure there's content to see, reps to grind, quests, social interaction, etc., but it's all a big item hunt in the end.

Raids rebalanced for Patch 3.0.2 {WoW}

Oct 1st 2008 6:54PM I see this as being a way for people who haven't to see content that they otherwise wouldn't. The DPS/HPS increases are substantial using the same gear and the change to threat mechanics enable classes (warlocks) to dps harder before threat capping if they do at all now.

The concern about shadow priests is unfounded with replenishment buff effecting the entire raid. Will the rate of incoming mana go down? Sure it will, but having the buff for the entire fight and giving multiple classes the ability to proc it, everything works out fine. S.priests got a large DPS buff to make up for the loss of utility in the form of mana regen. Well geared s.priests will still have a place and the good ones now might even be top or close-to-top DPS.

Also, Heroism/Bloodlust is not end-all for Sunwell. My guild does most encounters up to M'uru with 2-3. Never once have we used 5-6. However, I suppose we might if we ever had that many raid ready shammies simply because it would make things that much faster, but we don't and we get on fine without. Yes, I know that not every guild is the same, nor do they have the same make up and strategies. But, since it seemed a major crux of this article was about needing more shaman to progress and I just don't think that is true.

Forum post of the day: Honor, glory, and coercion {WoW}

Sep 26th 2008 9:24AM I enjoy my PvE play, I don't care for arena or battlegrounds so I don't participate. What I do have a problem with is when my PvE talents and spells start getting changed to balance part of the game I never even participate in.

First impressions: 5-man healing in the beta {WoW}

Sep 23rd 2008 7:51PM I play a resto shaman right now with a decent amount of sunwell experience and I wonder how well I'd be able to heal a 5-man as elemental spec with the spell power changes as I don't plan to level to 80 as resto.
I know you would be missing some core healer functionality and utility, but nonetheless, I'd actually be curious how that would work out for any hybrid(Boomkin, Protadin, S.Priest, etc.) since I wasn't graced with a beta invite to try it myself.
