Feb 5th 2009 7:25PM @ Leisha:
Yeah, you have it right. Same with Warlocks, really. Though we usually don't have to switch until we get to raiding/instancing (leveling I kept 3-5 shards handy; instance/raid 30-40)
ofc, my hunter didn't use a bag while leveling to 70 (well, until I hit OL) - leveled it that far solo.
Feb 5th 2009 7:22PM I've leveled multiple characters with my wife.
1-70: Warlock/Ret (prot 68-70) Paladin
70-80: Hunter/Ret Paladin
Of these, the warlock/priest was probably the absolute easiest, with warlock/paladin a close second. Of course, leveling from 70-80, the warlock and priest were T6 geared, and Paladin T5. Hunter had a bit of ZA/Kara gear, that was it. Rogue I decided I sucked too much with, it's now abandoned.
Other attempts at characters:
warrior/priest (maxed out at 28)
feral druid/hunter (35)
DK/DK (70, beta)
feral druid/resto druid (38 and climbing)
Feb 5th 2009 11:41AM One thing that concerns me (as a warlock) is stacking recklessness and weakness.
I don't do it often, but every once in a while I throw weakness on a boss or add in a raid; will this no longer work, since sunder armor and faerie fire will presumably be stacked on them already?
(Note: I only throw it regularly on Widow (we ignore enrage otherwise), Maexxna (during frenzy, with non-bear tank) and Kel'Thuzad adds (to increase the amount of time we have to kill KT on nights we have low DPS).
Siphon Life change - I dunno, seems kinda off to me. Doesn't this decrease the effectiveness of affliction? Sounds like the damage that SL would do is now not being done. On the other hand, it makes the rotation that much easier to track, which is a good thing.
Consume Shadows having a CD? I do not approve. CS is already useless, and heals little health. Or are they going to make it a LoH-type full heal?
Jan 23rd 2009 1:56PM I would disagree, to an extent. The major issue with this crunch is basically that the businesses either did not or were not allowed to follow business ethics.
Basically, a huge portion of it is that businesses were lending money to people when they KNEW there was a huge chance they would not be paid back. That's not only against business ethics, it's just plain stupid. But because the economy - specifically, construction - was booming, it didn't matter - people could buy a house they could not afford, and then sell it for a profit a few years later. When the housing bubble burst, hundreds of thousands if not millions of people lost their jobs or otherwise started to lose money, making them unable to pay for the houses they had bought and could no longer sell.
The inflated house loans, in the meantime, went unpaid. Even when the banks foreclosed, the house would not be worth the loan value. And so it snowballed.
Jan 23rd 2009 1:14PM Business line of thought:
Do we have money? < yes
Can we get more money? < yes
let's do it.
That's the way it HAS to be. As officers in a publicly traded company, it is their responsibility to make as much money as you can without violating legal/business ethics.
Think of it like raiding: They're trying to make progression.
Dec 16th 2008 10:39AM I was in a AQ40 raid post-3.0; a rogue decided to stealth into his room while the rest of us were bioing or prepping by reading the fight - right at the door. Boss blasted her, chained to the group.
I got hit for 2m or so overkill damage..
Nov 26th 2008 5:15PM God forbid you have any lag when fighting Loken; I would run as soon as I could and still got caught 4-5 times (we wiped on him for an hour last night). Finally got through when I used Demonic Teleport to TP out the first time, VW/Sacrifice and eat the second and circle again for the third. And I still died on the fourth.
This was with a relatively uber-group, 6.2k combined DPS and a paladin healer throwing out 8-10k flash heals.
(Even on the wipes, we got him down about 300k before the second blast)
Honestly, he needs a small nerf; maybe reduce the AoE 5 yards or something.
Oct 6th 2008 7:37PM Personally, I'm finding that I'm having a lot of fun in BG's lately - not sure why. But that's neither here nor there.
Most of the PvP gear will probably go by the wayside fairly quickly in Wrath - but not all. My main is a lock, so I'm not certain about the other classes - but the Guardian's Necklace at least will be superior or comparable to most gear you will be getting for a while.
Note: My lock is geared in primarily T5/Badge gear, with some Hyjal/BT drops. In the beta, I'm teamed with a similarly geared spriest tearing mobs apart in the Basin - while still only level 70. So far, my only main character death since starting the beta (maybe 3 hours play time, due to RL constraints) was due to a *4* pull in a 75 zone. [I've spent more time on a DK, they're fun.]
Sep 22nd 2008 2:49PM Yes, a learned intelligent Dragon freeing criminals. Specifically, a learned intelligent Dragon freeing criminals inside a city that he wants to see destroyed. Hardly a bad plan, since many of these criminals are probably quite powerful.
