Jun 29th 2010 3:52AM This is an awesome way to tank Sindi and if we fail on her it is usually phase 3 that will do us in. Sending this vid and writeup to guild to see what they will do.
On a sadder note: I have taken up tanking on my leveling druid and to tell the truth the most fails I see in groups is from hunters. I try to train these guys, but it is a major detractor for me and the rest of the group. Frostheim, maybe you could send some class specific tips to our newer hunters via blizards tutorial to help them out. I don't know why some people do not research their class on the internet, but it is a sad fact that they do not know simple things like turning off growl, placing a pet in passive, making a pet attack / assist marcro's, mana management...etc.
I will keep telling these guys to go read wow.com, but I think it is about time that blizzard made some tutorials that are class specific.
Jun 28th 2010 9:58AM You forgot another very important aspect to our dps in lower levels.
castsequence: PW: Shield, Smite, SW: Pain.
use: Wand, Wand, Wand.
Jun 28th 2010 9:51AM Sending tells in "who" use to be a prereq for finding a tank and healer before the Lfd option. Since Druids, Paladins, and Shaman have mutiple roles it makes sense to spam the Priest 1st because everyone knows that people that roll a Priest want to be healers. Strong hybrids like Druids would only give you a 25% chance of hooking up with a healer. This misconception (or not) of class roles is also true for tanks in the case of Warriors and is one of the reasons why everyone thinks Priests and Warriors were developed to be the games Healer's and Tank's.
Old tell to me in pre-bc.
Need Priest for Mc, I don't care if you are in greens we will provide FR gear and pots.
Jun 28th 2010 3:02AM Yes, Druids are good healers in Wrath, but who knows what Cataclysm will bring to the class or any class. Really though this is a column for Priests and about Priests. Everyone loves the Tree’s, but try to show a little "class".
Jun 24th 2010 7:00AM Your attitude is what bothers me the most about PvP. Face it you are once again looking at PvP as a solo experience instead of a team sport. One thing that has needed to change for a long time in PvP is the solo mentality that many players get into when PvPing in battlegrounds. You are not in this alone, we have an objective, and people need to focus on these objectives instead of trying to solo while bitching about not getting any heals. The reason you don't get heals is because your healer is stun locked and 2 seconds away from an untimely death because you can't focus 5 yards away.
Jun 21st 2010 8:30AM As a level 22 you probably want flash heal or holy nova glyph until you can spec circle of healing. Guardian Spirit is your next 80 glyph. Those will probably be your main 3 unless you want to get prayer of healing, poh was big in pre-icc raid, but not so much in icc, instead of flash heal. That pretty much summs it up for major glyph choices as a holy priest. Hopefully cata will come out with some more useful stuff for the spec since glyph of flash heal, holy nova, renew (debated) and prayer of healing are dependent on your healing style.
Jun 21st 2010 4:56AM The problem is not your bubbles, at those levels rage generation is very frustrating for Bears and Warriors. Most likely it is the dps that is causing the problem for your rage starved Warrior. Tell him to spread sunders, get the addon skull me, and tell the dps to focus on your 1st skull. There are some pretty whacked out people at lower levels that don't like positional authority so you may have to use the boot option more that usual. The great thing about Tanking those levels is that queue times are under 5 seconds even in the teens - a healer / tank combo are probably under 2 seconds.
For the Disc healing Pallies - just bubble him and Penance every once in a while to keep his mana up.
Trick of the trade is to enable mana and rage bars in your healing mods to track your tanks progress.
Jun 21st 2010 4:41AM I have a question about pets. If you do not have pets checked off in healbot or pet bars up for vuhdo does PoM and CoH still heal the pet?
I try to remember to check these options, but for the sake of frame space I am hoping the answer to the above question is yes. While I will not target a pet for healing I do hope that our smart and bouncy spells will help with this task when I target dps or ranged groups for heals.
Can you imagine if Frost mages become viable raiders in Cata we could have 2-3 extra groups to heal. I have never healed a 40-man, but if they keep expanding pet classes it looks like we may soon.
Here is an ideal pet for Goblins - Auctioneer pet: bribes the unfriendly mobs causing your and 10 other raid members an increase of damage by 3%. This ability removes 2 gold per mob and if not paid the pet disappears for 2 hours causing a 30% reflection of damage to the raid for the duration of the encounter.
Jun 20th 2010 5:45AM We usually don't mark on normal so sure a quick BL makes sense in this difficulty. However, heroic is a totally different story and BL is highly recommended on the 3rd mark because if we get a 4th everyone most likely will be paying the piper.
Jun 9th 2010 4:30AM Followed your link and found this - sorry.
Bad news, everyone: I quit WoW, my account expires on August 11th, and unfortunately Taroven quit too. Unless someone takes over, this addon is officially abandoned. So tick that "Load out of date AddOns" check box and hope for the best!
I just wanted to say thanks for using my AddOns and for all the support, feedback, bug reports, and kind words. Very much appreciated. Bye!
