Jan 9th 2009 9:48AM The penalty prevents a losing team from running out the clock to avoid a loss. If there was no point loss, a stealther who lost his team mates could just hide until the timer hit 45 minutes. This way, there's no incentive to drag it out.
Dec 31st 2008 1:18PM Utter bunk. Similar devices typically sell for $20 and up. Even if Blizz isn't selling them at a loss, they aren't making any money on them. Unless you count the savings from having to process fewer account compromise complaints.
Nov 20th 2008 4:22PM It's not a defense cap, it's a minimum to be uncrittable. Defense continues to provide good amounts of avoidance and block well beyond the 540 minimum. The term cap implies that you shouldn't have anything over 540, which is not the case.

Nov 7th 2008 1:53PM Those skins were just for testing the ability to roll out new skins in a patch, if I remember correctly. They were never actually intended for use.
Oct 7th 2008 3:18PM Defense still adds avoidance beyond the crit cap. Not much, since bears can't parry or block, but it's not useless.
