Oct 15th 2010 12:20PM First of all, good on you for standing up for what you enjoy. You want to raid, you should be able to raid comfortably and I hope that you find a place where you can play the game and have fun openly.
I did want to address something else as well. I see a lot of people saying, "Well... just don't say anything at all about it, and it won't come up."
I don't know much about it myself, but it seems to me that it would still come up.
Just as an example, you join a guild. You are friends with everyone and so on. You talk to everyone and so on, introduce yourself so they address you and refer to you using female pronouns because you have a female name. And then eventually you raid and you have a male voice. Is this example at all accurate?
My apologies, I'm just trying my best to understand the situation and help others that are saying "just keep it to yourself" to understand as well.
Jan 13th 2010 1:28PM I'm always bothered by comments like this as I'm currently working on gearing myself up to start tanking heroics... easy ones first, obviously.
I've been told that I need about 22k health, about 22k armor, Def capped and about 32% parry+dodge. Is this not the case? This is what I am aiming for following a very well-written guide. Trying to balance these requirements with threat.
I don't want to be kicked from the group because I'm just starting, and I definitely don't want people to think I'm a tool for trying. Gotta remedy this tank shortage somehow so we don't have to deal with these people ruining everyone's good time.
Dec 30th 2009 9:04PM Thanks for the reply ecwfrk. That does make me feel a bit better. I didn't know that the random dungeon thinger tries to put you in a group with gear similar to your own in level. I thought it just checked to see if you are worthy or not.
Dec 30th 2009 6:08PM The people you are aiming your comments at are what really worry me. I just hit 80, and I want to tank. I've done a lot of research, and I plan on getting the required defense and such before attempting any heroics. I will enchant and gem to get as much health as I can, but there is only so much I can do.
The problem I am seeing is that I can't tank because I'm not overgeared, and I can't get overgeared without tanking. I see a brick wall that I can't really get around with intelligent playing just because people won't allow people that want to start tanking to play.
I really hope I'm wrong, though.
Nov 11th 2009 9:58PM No tanking sword makes me quite sad. I don't raid, so no Quel sword for me, I suppose.

Nov 6th 2008 9:07AM I like me some World of Warcraft. Can't wait to get out there, get my Cobalt armor and start tanking again.
