Have Group, Will Travel replaced with faster flight paths, flask "Chug-A-Lug" perk removed {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 1:27PM This only has an impact on high level guilds. Seems like an unfair perk for players will finally be removed. Maybe they could make it so that level 25 guilds have to pay more for flight paths since they get more income. I also think that guilds who are below level 10 should get subsidized by level 25 guild's weekly cash flow, and unguilded people should get a check each week from that pot as well. We need to stop this war on the poor!

We need to manage our expectations about Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 10:07AM Here's what it would take to get me to subscribe again:

(1) More epic solo quest lines (things that don't require me to do the most boring thing in WoW: "raid" - things along the line of the original onyxia attunement quest or the tier .5 upgrade process)

(2) A recommitting of blizzard to the epic size of the game - remember when WoW first came out? We couldn't fly through everything, you had to walk, on foot, across a massive universe, and it was risky. Quests took you all around the place, from one zone to the next, back and forth, and it unfolded slowly. We need more zones where you have to be on foot, and we need large zones with lots of stuff to do in them (and fewer flight paths).

(3) More difficulty. Get rid of heirlooms. Leveling should give you a sense of accomplishment, not be boring.

I see no effort on Blizzard's part to make any of these important changes. Everything points to making it easier, streamlined, cookie-cutter, with the only goal to get you into the one activity they seem intent on forcing down everybody's throat at ANY cost: raiding.

Breakfast Topic: What's the best race for each class? {WoW}

Feb 21st 2012 9:16AM Warrior - Troll, either sex
Death Knight - Human, male, or Tauren, male
Paladin - Dwarf, female
Hunter - Draenai, male
Warlock - Gnome, male
Mage - Gnome, female
Priest - Human, female
Rogue - Gnome, female
Druid - Troll, either sex
Shaman - Draenai, female

Races to avoid: Night Elf (creepy walk), Goblin (look like gremlins)
Alternative: Orcs look good as any class

Breakfast Topic: What's the most useless ability in World of Warcraft? {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2011 4:27PM The warrior ability "slam" - what a dumb ability, we have heroic strike, don't need slam at all, totally useless. (and I'm sure there are all kinds of people who will disagree, but I'm just fine with that)

Breakfast Topic: What do you want from 5-man content? {WoW}

Nov 14th 2011 9:05AM There is only one thing I desire for 5-mans, and that is the removal of the Dungeon Finder, which has wrecked the social aspect of the game by turning people into commodities and removing any need to actually talk to other people on your realm. What are realms for now anyway, since they are no longer communities?

Breakfast Topic: What was your first armor set? {WoW}

Nov 2nd 2011 11:20AM I completed Tier 1 on my warlock simultaneously while doing Tier .5 on my warrior. The non-raiding Tier .5 was much more satisfying to achieve, and to this day all the questing leading up and culminating in the Lord Valthalak kill for the head and chest of the Heroism set are among the most memorable accomplishments in the game. I think it's a lesson learned, at least by the players, that the most satisfying things do not come from random raid drops, but from long quest series involving many steps, running around the world, intentionally moving towards a difficult but achievable goal.

The Queue: Three questions for the dev chat {WoW}

Oct 27th 2011 12:44PM The idea of removing autoattack is the worst idea I've ever heard. And I've heard a lot of ideas over the seven years of playing this game. If they move this to other melee classes I'm done.

Faces of BlizzCon: We asked Ask Mr. Robot {WoW}

Oct 25th 2011 10:28AM I think there is a place for automated gear appraisal, but it has some pretty serious glitches. Most notably, for warriors it ranks the stat weight for dodge and parry much higher than mastery, and then tells you to reforge dodge and parry to mastery on the same screen! Hehe. Guess they have some work to do!

Accessible content, valor points and the alt {WoW}

Oct 12th 2011 9:48AM You see, I guess chose a long time ago not to only focus on gear in
this game. It's shallow, and ultimately a never-ending chain of the
same experience: replace one piece of gear at a time 13 iLevels higher
than the last one. It's why I haven't raided in the past couple
years. Now I won't say I don't enjoy getting new gear, of course I
do, but where you run ZG and ZA again and again to get gear for alts,
I take my alts and run the normal heroics for the achievements, or run
with guild members through lower level dungeons or old raids. It's a
blast to try to get some of those old achievements done, plus the
random heroic (non-Troll) has a much wider variety. Once you give
up the "it's all about the gear" mentality, the game becomes more
enjoyable.
