Sep 30th 2011 12:02AM When people join my guild, I tell them that homophobic, sexist, misogynistic or racist comments are absolutely not acceptable. By default the entire guild is more or less left-wing liberals and those who aren't are generally very tolerant as well.
That said, as a left-wing-liberal, kudos!
Sep 22nd 2011 2:10PM Yay, Venita! Venita is one of the most awesome people on the server.
Aug 17th 2011 12:37PM This will be great to fill in the one or two slots missing in a raid and I can't find PuGs to bite. I do hope there is a fair minimum gear requirement like it is for Heroics and also a class need option so we can join as a raid looking for a Warlock or Priest or whatever. Also good for my alts. :)
Aug 4th 2011 9:54AM Lich King 10Normal.
After a night of brutal wiping over and over in phase 3, we were on a perfect run - all DPS were up after 2nd transition, we were handling Vile Spirits, until suddenly we lost a healer in FM. That started a chain of losses and very quickly, we were down to me tanking, a holy priest and a shaman just as he started to cast Vile Spirits.
He was down to 12% when all the spirits swarmed and killed the other two as he landed a mark me. I hit my cool-downs and wings, kept wailing on him, but it looked like another close call. The Priest in Angel form topped me off and kept me alive for a few seconds but then I suddenly bit it even though I had max health.
I had no idea what happened. I dejectedly scrolled through the log when vent broke out into nerdscreams. Apparently DoTs had pushed him over 10% and what killed was Fury. And I didn't even realize it.

Jun 16th 2011 7:00PM Well bravo, regardless. If not for Influencing Blizzard Policy (tm) then for, um, eating kittens.
And I saw that list on Twitter - pretty horrifying. It's like /trade vomited all over the comments and some librarian tut-tuted over the mess.
Jun 16th 2011 5:37PM Way to go Allisaon. :) No seriously, I think you brought up the most salient points about the problems with Ask A Dev and I'm glad they're reviewing the process - even if they were (unnecessarily) snarky about your article.
Jun 5th 2011 1:09PM Yep. I remember watching this movie for the first time like 25, 26 years ago and being transported - the soundtrack still makes me feel like a kid. It's one of those films that helped turn me into a fantasy nerd.
Jun 1st 2011 9:25AM It's kind of funny, I only get very competitive when I'm in an environment that encourages me to compete - in general, I much prefer cooperative play, which is why I'm primarily a raider, not a PvPer.... But I do love Arena.
However, my frustration with Arenas, is that I think there's a limit to how far skill can take you - in 2s especially, which is what I play in, I have never been able to break the low/mid barrier of the 1500/1600 ratings because at that point the teams I play (last season Ret Paly/Resto Shammy and this season Ret/Holy paladins) just aren't competitive against the Disc + Rogue/Warrior/Mage teams, which are all I see at that point forward. Just about any other team we have a 75% win ratio on, and we generally end the week at a 50/50 win loss ration with our rating barely moving. Frustrating.
We do well against non-optimal team at that point but because I want to Arena on my main character we can't really into higher brackets. I'm not someone who'll swap characters to PvP because that's the ideal comp for this season or whatever.
Anyway - point being, there's a limit to how far competitiveness will take us. I love Arenas though and I enjoyed the 2v2 almost-a-duel feel but I think next season it's time to move on to 3s or 5s. Too many counters in 2s.
