Dec 15th 2011 6:21PM Sign me up :)
Oct 30th 2011 12:12AM I hope stuff changes with our trees currently. I really love my Arcane Mage with her auto-Slow appending itself onto my Arcane Blasts, even in PvE. I can rip into stuff and kite super easily, especially with my Improved Blink... but from the way all this looks I feel like I'll be more pigeon-holed into being like every other mage out there. And I don't really get the entire line devoted to Polymorph tweaks. If it were a talent in a 51 point tree, I'd skip it. So when you boil it down to just these few options, why am I forced to pick one? I don't really see the utility it provides either. The slowed regen is moot, most times you sheep, it's a full health target prior to a pull, but even if not it's likely going to be sheeped for the full duration while you kill everything else. The stun version already exists, and is marginally useful in my experience with pugs where you don't necessarily trust someone not to think kill order is moon, skull, x, etc. And the double Polymorph... well I like being able to check one sheep timer as I dps, and juggling two might just get to be a pain in the ass. The point of redoing trees in Cata was supposed to be taking out these "I don't want any of this, but I kind of have to take it" talents, but to me, that Polymorph section is definitely one of them. Also, I'm really upset at the prospect of my Arcane Blasts no longer appending my Slow. Also my Blink haste. I just love those two things and I'll be really sad if I have to see them go.
Feb 9th 2011 11:07AM I understand completely. Still, the site works great just manually selecting "I'm a Draenei Resto Shaman pre-raid level, looking for any gear, with maxed alch and herb." Looking forward to actually loading myself up, but still definitely useful in the meantime. Thanks for the great tool :)
Feb 9th 2011 10:37AM Grr... now it keeps telling me the Armory is unavailable, though I can access it just fine. Something like this could be great for my casual guild just learning to do regular normal instance runs together. Rawr functionality without having to tweak would be great for them.
Jan 5th 2011 8:23AM OK, get ready for crossover nerd-dom.
Unuscion the Warrior, after Unus the Untouchable, a mutant with power of invulnerability. Sounded like a Warrior tank.
Kolossus the Paladin. After Colossus, because he's awesome, and a total tank. (Colossus is Piotr Rasputin, a mutant with the ability to turn his skin into organic steel, making him super strong and super tough, in a nutshell. But he's also just straight up cool as sh*t.)
Ireneadler the Undead Mage. Because she you know... died. But she was also kind of mystic/mage-y I suppose. (Irene Adler was the pre-cog mutant Destiny that was killed over a number of prophecies she had transcribed).
Ceciliareyes the Discipline Priest. Cecilia Reyes was surprise! Another mutant with the passive ability of a constant forcefield around her body that basically made her invulnerable, but still able to feel impact. So basically she couldn't physically be penetrated, but would still feel pain like if she were punched or slammed or such. But totally Disc.
She has however, recently been replaced by Óroro, the white mohawk toting Goblin Shaman. Ororo Munroe is basically the most BAMFiest, awesomest, kick-assiest woman fictionally alive. Lol she's Storm, and she controls weather. And for a brief period had a white mohawk, which I thought was totally awesome when I realized the Goblin chick I was making already could get.
Some less played toons are Kurtwagner the Night Elf Rogue, Earthmover the Orc Shaman, Lifeguard the Human Priest, Kazar the Troll Hunter, Bellasco the Goblin Warlock, and probably a few others I'm forgetting at the moment. I dunno, I started a theme, and it was fun to hop over to the Marvel Wiki and look up whatever connections I could get. It's also fun when I'm PUGing and in Vent or something and I'm on Irene and the raid leader calls me Destiny. It's a little bit of nerdy cool. I get fairly regular tells too from other people nerding out over names, and it adds a fun element of surprise to the game I guess.
Nov 2nd 2010 8:15PM Did anyone else notice the "Elemental Fire for the Demon Soul" pamphlet? You know, like "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul"? Well, at least I laughed.
More of a chuckle.
Nov 2nd 2010 6:00PM Actually the key phrasing here is "The Tauren believe they were the first. The Night Elves were the first." Y'all need to get over this "Tauren were the frist Druids" thing. They weren't. End of story. Move the hell on. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
By the way, this comes from someone who LOVES the Tauren (PS OMG I can't wait for my Tauren Pally!). It doesn't matter so much who was first. The Tauren have been who they are longer than pretty much anything else in Azeroth. Just because they weren't shapeshifting and Moonfiring before Night Elves doesn't make them crappy knock offs. Besides, they improved on the model. Who's a better tank, a bear with feathers, or a bear with some badass horns?
Aug 29th 2010 10:32AM Not only is it awesome that you quoted Concrete Blond, but even more awesome is that commenters have caught it. I love wow.com.
May 15th 2010 11:57AM Personally, my only crazy fan boy issues are Troll and Worgen Druids. Yes, trolls have a long history of shape changing, and nature magic. But it's totemic in nature, and their nature magic is based in shamanism and "Da Voodoo", not in any druidic sense at all. Shape changing does not a druid make. Besides, shaman shape change too... Ghost Wolf. The trolls just take it to a higher level. And Worgen... well there's just no canon whatsoever there. I get it from a gameplay perspective... but at the same time it is discouraging to see a trend that appears (to me at least) that any time gameply butts up against lore, lore loses. Alliance Shaman? Horde Paladin? Newer race Death Knights? There's just a whole lot that makes the game run smoother, but doesn't make sense story-wise. If WoW was a novel, I'd have put it down months ago and told the author he's an idiot.
That being said, I'm still stoked for a Tauren Pally. I like the lore AND gameplay ideas behind it. I really don't know why Tauren didn't have Sunwalkers from the get-go.
Apr 15th 2010 6:26PM You know, that horse would look good under the Horde Priest I just started... you should encourage my transition :)
