Breakfast Topic: What does your class choice say about you? {WoW}

Oct 10th 2010 1:25PM Tapukimastra - Agreed, 1000%. Your religious decisions do not DEFINE you, but they are most definitely a part of you. No one has any right to judge another's feelings on religion, or faith. brofist for being part of the mature, understanding crowd. :)

Oct 10th 2010 1:21PM Athiest Ret Paladin here as well. I think most people who play Ret think of it more like how Squirr3llywrath9 put it - "the light" is pretty much like "the force." And like sardai said, I think most Rets tend to be "chaotic neutral." Do what you whatever you want, however you want, to get what you want. But that's only my idea of the class, and why I love it so much.

May 31st 2010 2:51PM @Almo "What other reason would someone post trash on a product unless it was jealousy?" Said like a true fanboy. You're unaware that by saying something as such, you completely refuse to admit that people can dislike something that you like to the point of hating on it. You're a god damn hypocrite.

Jan 8th 2010 11:13PM And I guess a statue of something you love and hold close is too much to ask of a woman that's supposed to share in your indulgences, as you are, after all, married - right?

Wake up. This was overstepping her bounds as a partner. If she felt afraid, she could have talked it over with him, and maybe had him put it in the garage, or somewhere she doesn't often tread. Marriage is about compromise and understanding. Not bending to the whim of your significant other every time they're slightly perturbed by something.

Dec 8th 2009 5:08PM I don't think saying "10 million people trying to access the servers at the same time are causing the problem, not Blizzard." is defending the company. It's just someone who actually knows about technology explaining the situation.

If your car has a 5 year warranty, and the engine blows in a year, is it "COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE"? Do you lobby personal attacks at the company, knowing full well that they're going to fix it, free of charge, and all you need to do is give them time? Especially when they compensate you with a free car for the time being, so that you aren't inconvenienced? (I know you're not one of the whiners, I'm just setting up an example.)

If you answered "No" to that, then you shouldn't feel entitled to anything from Blizzard apart from them continuing support of a product that you're paying 15 dollars a month for. That isn't exactly breaking the bank, and it's one hell of a damn deal when it comes to how much development is being put into the game on a very regular basis.

Think of my previous example for a second. Blizzard is the manufacturer of the car, and the engine itself. The free loaner car they give you? Mailed in-game pets, game time, etc.

The only difference that the product offered is a computer game, a HOBBY, versus a friggin' CAR - many people's only viable and convenient mode of transportation.

You can turn off a video game, leave it for a month, and come back to it without having to worry that everything has been flipped upside down.

Try imagining what it would be like to have your engine blow on you. Now think about it and envision you were on the way to work.

I think I've made my point clear enough.

Dec 8th 2009 4:57PM I'm a Network Administrator, and I can tell you exactly what's going on.

Millions of people are trying to access the same node of servers at the exact same time. There's no actual PROBLEM with the servers - people are just being impatient. The servers are working fine, because they're disconnecting you, which means that they're disconnecting stale connections after a certain amount of time. If it just constantly said "connected" and didn't do anything, that would be a problem. But because everyone is getting "disconnected," it's just a matter of people chilling out/giving up and then everyone can get on.

TLDR version; there is no problem, it's just that millions of people are trying to fit into one revolving door/elevator at the same time.

Dec 8th 2009 4:44PM If everyone just waiting a couple minutes in between attempts, everyone would be able to get on. Instead, everyone is going "DAMNIT I CANT GET IN *tries to log in again* GOD DAMNIT BLIZZARD YOU SUCK *tries to log in again* THIS IS B.S. I PAY 15 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR THIS CRAP *tries to log in again*" Rinse and repeat.

When will people learn?

Breakfast Topic: Five years {WoW}

Nov 23rd 2009 3:56PM I've been playing since January of '05. It's been a long journey. I think my first real, and hilarious, memory would be when I was playing a Tauren Warrior. I had thought, "Well, warriors are supposed to be big and fearsome, and nothing's more scary than a raging bull with a sword!" So I leveled him to around 15, and I saw a Zevra in the Crossroads. I thought, "Oh, this is like all those little critters I keep seeing, and charging at them to build rage and then heroic striking the mob next to them is the best idea ever!" So I charged at it, and promptly got my butt handed to me. It was around this moment that it struck me that the levels of the mobs I was attacking mattered. And as a level 15 warrior, a level 22 Zevra is probably a little out of my league. ;)
