Breakfast Topic: Would you enjoy building your own version of WoW? {WoW}

Mar 25th 2011 10:33AM Little big planet is essentially all user content driven right now with over 3 million levels developed by people some good some bad and some are wayyyyyyyy better than what the original developers designed! You just need a good rating system!

Can't believe that nobody mentioned Player housing and guild halls! With the ability to add workstations and benches for your toons professions, a closet to keep tabards in etc etc etc

While I see the point that some people are making regarding making custom dungeons and raid encounters ie mseeing with lore, exploitative etc, it would be nice to have dungeons not appear as if they are on rails all the time, maybe random bosses or something. But I think what would be awesome is if Blizzard ran a competition before every expansion where players could submit ideas for dungeons and one would get picked to be implemented in one of the patches (of course all rights reserved to blizzard) but it would be neat community engagement

Breakfast Topic: What feature does WoW need most? {WoW}

Dec 23rd 2010 11:38AM I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this! The one thing that I wish for as an improvement in this game would be the feature of adding a "Gladiators Talent Tree" to every toon you have. This tree would come into effect everytime you entered an instanced PVP situation (BG, Arena, WG, etc... and NOT in world PV or city raids), and would lock out some or all of your other talent trees. Essentially this tree would include the ability to choose PVP specific talents for your character in a hunter's pet style talent tree. These talents would be similar versions to the PVE talents your toon would have, but would be called for example "Gladiator's Steady Shot" (sorry I play a hunter). For the classes that have healing abilities they would have the option of choosing certain healing talents over DPS talents, DPSers would have the choice of picking 1 DPS talent over another.

That way everyone going into a PVP situation would go into that situation and be forced into their "PVP Talent Tree", and the most important aspect of this is that Blizzard would be able to balance PVE against PVE talents and PVP vs PVP talents, with less PVP talents easier to balance the classes, and you end up putting more emphasis on skill of the players other than classes that happen to have PVP buffs because of a PVE buffs. No more nerfing or buffing talents that affect other aspects of gameplay because of performance in another.

As a hunter for example there could be an option for like "Gladiator's Aspect of the Gryphon" that enables me to have the benefits of aspect of the hawk, but also be able to do away with the 5 yard minimum radius to fire my ranged weapon, and this choice would be at the expense of choosing another ability.

The Daily Blues {WoW}

Aug 24th 2010 4:11PM I've played a hunter for the last 3 years or so as my main and have raided starting in Kara, SSC all the way up to ICC with my hunter. When WotLK came out, volley was so OP that blizzard was quick to nerf it, and bye bye went the rounding up mobs with a gorilla and AOEing them down while levelling. That was hella fun... anyways I digress. I don't really know what the hubub is about. Everyone getting their panties in a knot as if volley was the king of DPS abilities and that without it hunters are no longer going to be ranged class and might as well be taken out of the game and have Blizzard conver their hunter toons to rogues.

First thing: Volley only positively impacts the DPS meters when you are using it on 5 mobs or more in a group during a raid a dungeon. The minute there are 4 in that group, volley becomes a waste of mana. This is after the WotLK nerf to volley. When you are down to 4 mobs, then switching to single target DPS is better than contiuning to volley. If you don't know this as a hunter, you have been wasting mana that could have been spent elsewhere. Get ratingbuster addon to tell you your DPS per mana spent. I noticed that when I am lazy and don't single target DPS after our raid reaches 4 mobs, that my DPS goes down. Hunters are not good on trash mobs anyways the mobs die too quickly for us to ramp up the DPS enough

Second thing: I have NEVER used volley on a boss fight to deal damage to the boss. Sometimes I volley adds around the boss but never on a single boss ever. Most boss fights its never even used, and last I checked thats where its important to have your damage.

Third thing: The explosive shot launcher will compensate for volley, whilst they taketh they giveth so to speak

fourth thing: I would'nt be surprised to see a pet class with a small AOE seeing as they are trying to bring utility to hunter pets, and since we can switch pets out basically at will in Cata it won't be a problem.

Fifth thing: I don't see multishot replacing Volley, as right now it shares a CD with aimed shot, and for those saying it pulls extra mobs you are acting like firing a multishot pulls the entire raid to you. The mobs still have to be within 35 (39 yards) with hawkeyein order to be hit with multishot, and chances are if they are that close that they are pulled already, cuz the tank did'nt notice the pat or someone is standing too close

My 2 cents

Hotfixes for Hunters over the last few days {WoW}

Curse Client for Mac {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2009 1:12PM I wrote "Shut out" Not "Shut Down" They Shut them out from accessing their databases

Curse Client for Mac {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2009 11:52AM Im not talking about Wowmatrix not working, i'm talking about the Curse client not being available for 10.4. Its also not the operation system that is the issue, it requires an intel mac. I tried to install the curse client the other day and it said that the architecture was different.

Wowmatrix works fine for me, and I use it for all the addons that it can download, which is about 60% the rest is all curse. Wowmatrix gives you a little message with the ones that they cant update because curse shut them out.

Here is the wowinsider article on the shutdown in case you didnt read it:

You will notice that the curse addons have a little link in the status column that says "read me" or something and when you click there is a message popping up apologizing and explaining why.

Here is the post from

Curse Client for Mac {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2009 11:11AM Now if we could get them to release this application as a Universal application, those of us that do not have 10.5 or intel macs would also be able to update our Curse addons as well. Since they decided to shut down Wowmatrix, I simply have too many to update by hand. If you are going to PROHIBIT a product that is better than yours from accessing your database, then at least come out with a product to replace it that fills the niche the previous product had. Only reason I ever used wowmatrix was cuz it was the only one for the mac.

Save your specs with Talented {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2009 10:09AM Guys and gals: The armory does not update until you log into the game. If you know there is a talent wipe, open up your armory page, log into game and they info from your previous spec is still there!

Then just copy what your armory page says thats what I do anyways...

If you don't know there is a talent wipe, READ more and READ THE PATCH NOTES! So many people in my guild logged on 5 minutes before raid time last night and were surprised that their talents were gone...

Bug fix patch with talent reset coming soon {WoW}

Apr 21st 2009 9:34AM WTB People who read patchnotes...
