Raid/PuG habits should be kept separate {WoW}

Jan 19th 2010 12:50AM I do both sides every day. I DPS on my completely overgeared shammy and tank on my akwardly-geared DK. I've noticed that I also go in with the raiding mindset because when I'm tanking I keep moving. There is no stopping and I get furious when random healer A decides that it's more important to skin the mobs than to keep up with the rest of the group that just wants frost emblems and lets everybody die in the process. Should he be doing that while the group is going on? Probably not but then again he's also never so much as stepped foot into Ulduar so who am I to chastise him? Then of course what made me the maddest was when I starteted tanking and realised that a good 70% of all DPSers in the game have no clue what their rotation was so I rarely get out-dpsed even on bosses with my hardcore 2k single-target DPS.

I've noticed that I get a lot less frustrated on my shammy. I go in with the expectation that there's very few tanks that can keep up with my burst. It's not a stretch to pull 9-11k on trash so I always wait a couple of seconds before running in. It never matters so I pick the weakest hitting one and kill it before it kills me. On bosses I usually have to count to 5 and then hit it but the healer doesn't want to slit his wrists and the run doesn't go THAT much slower.

Oct 24th 2009 4:35PM I personally love that ToC has no trash. Otherwise I find it the most disappointing instance ever made. There is nothing difficult about it. Sure hardmodes require a bit more DPS and whatnot but there's no changes to the tactics whatsoever. The only changes 90% of the time is more DPS, heals and HP on the tanks. I personally am very disappointed with ToC. Ulduar was excellent. You had your regular content that was challenging but not breaking and then you had hardmode that drastically changed the fights for the most part and truly showed a guild's skill. Now we have ToGC where guilds got a Tribute to Madness and a Tribute to Insanity very quick after hardmodes were unlocked.

Oct 19th 2009 6:19PM It is applicable to what their guild is all about. We are literally the exact same guild-type. 90% of us in guild are Military, Civilans or Contractors with a couple of EU and US members thrown in for good mix.

Jul 11th 2009 9:23PM I don't think the blogger raids with his shammy... If he did he would realize how huge of a buff this is for enh shammies in fights such as General. I'm a reliable person when it comes to interrupts so I'm ALWAYS on interrupt duty. What this means is I can't use ES because I need to save it for WS. I use WS because it's not on the GCD so I don't have to stop all of my other abilities as well. Having WS no longer be a shock means my DPS will go up by at least 1000 on General and Yogg P1.

This also means that I can interrupt more reliably other than by chance of hitting ES on the corrupter tentacles or in pvp when a caster is getting off his huge fireball and just waiting for me to cast ES or FS so he can nail me w/o fear of being interrupted. This is by far the most exciting change to me in 3.2 with the exception of the tots.

May 14th 2009 5:42PM There are several EU countries that are neglected. Europe is considerably larger than the countries they listed. My fiance is currently in Romania and she has no opportunity to make an attempt at this contest either.

Feb 5th 2009 8:35AM As ENH these are very welcome changes. My #1 problem was aggro bar none. I'm well geared so going into any pug was out of the question. There are very few tanks on my server who can keep threat off of me on anything other than a boss fight where they only have to concentrate on one target. I'll be looking forward to going into heroics and not having to worry about tanking half of the instance.

Then there's the unleashed rage change which is extremely welcome. I now have 3 extra points that I can divvy out as well as get an extra 2% crit.

Jan 26th 2009 11:08AM We have a guy like this in guild except that he just don't talk in vent. I've heard him talk in vent in the 3 months I've raided with him twice. He has a mic just never uses it and he happens to be the highest DPS and knows all of the fights. He damn near wiped the raid because he spoke and everybody alt+tabbed to see who it was.
