Mists of Pandaria Beta: New warlock pets {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2012 9:53AM I wish they worked like hunter pets so we could just tame and use any demon we find in the wild.

Scattered Shots: Moar boars -- Stampede Q&Q {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 6:01PM It wouldn't really be a "stampede" though if they spawned next to the current pet.

My guess is they will work just like the Paladin's pet. They'll spawn at the Hunter's location, attack whatever he is attacking, (without any control from the Hunter or any special pet abilities) and then they'll despawn when their time runs out.

Mar 13th 2012 2:12PM I fully expect to see a picture of Chris Hansen holding a ban hammer and asking me to sit down anytime i click a link supposedly being a leak. =P

Hi, my name is Anne and I'm addicted to transmogrification {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2012 1:26PM I'm addicted as well. Void storage solved my previous bank space woes, but now i need a whole other bank and void storage just for mog gear!

Ghostcrawler explains stat changes in Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2012 1:13PM I'm not sure I entirely understand GC's comments. He says they are adding new defensive stats that will be required in order to do well in PvP, yet simultaneously saying they want to lessen the barrier between PvE and PvP. How is requiring separate gear and stats for the two lessening the barrier??

And why in 2012 do we even still need separate gear and stats for PvP? Why do we need to change out of our dragon killing gear to join in the battle against the opposing faction? Why should gear that is perfectly suitable for killing everything else in the game suddenly not be good enough for killing other players? What practical sense does that make? The whole separate gear for PvP thing feels like an MMO relic from ages ago that should be abandoned. Having to grind/buy/enchant/gem/reforge/store two entire sets of gear just so you can get experience both aspects of the game doesn't make any sense to me.

I see this change as effectively killing casual PvP (non-rated BGs) for a lot of people because they will no longer be able to get by in PvE gear like they can now. Currently, the extra raw damage you get from PvE gear is enough to offset the lack of survivability due to lack of resil, but in the new system that won't be the case because we'll need the new "PvP power" stat in order to do damage. Unless i'm completely misunderstanding GC's comments...

Breakfast Topic: Which race has the best starting zone? {WoW}

Feb 27th 2012 9:31AM I'm the complete opposite. I was hugely disappointed by the Worgen starting area, primarily because of the phasing, which caused multiple problems. For one, you can't leave the island until you've done most of the quests, and two, as you would progress through the area, previous camps would become unavailable and a lot of the newer camps didn't have mailboxes, which was very annoying when trying to retrieve heirlooms/gold/bags, etc. Also, as you phased through the area it would automatically change your hearthstone location without telling you, and when you get toward the end of the area, there is a NE NPC on a boat who, when you talk to him, ports you to Darnassus with no warning and absolutely no way of getting back to Gilneas. And because so many of the quests involved vehicles and NPCs, a lot of them were bugged early on. I've never been a big fan of phasing to begin with, but to make an entire starting area phased is just bad design in my opinion. I don't understand why blizz thought it was ok to make the worgen/goblin starting areas work so completely different than every other starting area in the game.

Blue Posts: Zarhym takes over Night Court, winning the same item twice in LFR clarification {WoW}

Feb 8th 2012 9:38PM What Blizz needs to do now is take away the role bonus from people who already have the item, because what's happening now is that people are rolling need even if they already have it in hopes of getting a trade.

The curious case of Cataclysm potions {WoW}

Feb 7th 2012 11:29AM What I hate about alchemy is that we get the short end of the stick when it comes to scrolls. Our profession perk is the Flask of Enhancement which counts as an elixir, and since scrolls also count as elixirs, we can't use them.

The curious case of Cataclysm potions {WoW}

Feb 7th 2012 11:19AM Man, there are so many reasons why health potions used to be worth it and now aren't...

-most non-healing classes didn't have heals back in the day, now most of them do. Even my mage can recover most of his health every time he evocates now, with the proper glyph.

-we used to be able to use multiple heal pots per fight, now we can only use one.

-they used to heal a larger portion of our health pool

Blue Posts: MoP account-wide achievements, phasing, authenticator troubles, Battle.net Balance {WoW}

Feb 7th 2012 11:09AM As someone who has already grinded out over 9000 achievement points on multiple alts, i'm not sure how i feel about them suddenly being account-wide.

Perhaps if our achievements show how many toons they've been achieved on then i wouldn't feel like i just wasted the last 3 years of my WoW life.
